Got it from a second hand shop for £120 a couple of years ago, it always had a bit of a click on the hard drive especially notable when powering off. Inside is a Western Digital 120gb drive this has since been replaced with a toshiba 500gb drive, this wasn't easy I removed various screws until the case was far apart enough to undo the retaining screws and change the drive, not easy but possible with some care. I also upgraded the memory with a spare 2gb stick of memory I had. This was mainly used with Ubuntu as a TV and media machine until I changed from a standard monitor connection to a HDMI setup. It did the job well enough but really isn't up to handling 1080p video.
It's now probably going to get used for experimentation (maybe load it up with windows) as I now use an android phone when I'm away from home though this was very handy when I went away for a week last year. Still the best way to write word documents and the right size to easily fit in a bag to go away for the week.

You needed something more sophisticated - or to build your own!
