I'd been hearing about MCN Compare on the radio and though I'd give them a go to see if i could save a few quid..... what an absolute joke.... cheapest quote was £8544.00 yea really... Went to gocompare and was quoted £195 though Swinton Insurance (around what i expected for my age, bike etc) Actually MCE quote was top at £180 but i wouldn't touch that company with a barge pole

Entered all information as accurately as possible. But when I went to the insurer's site I found that some information had been muddled meaning re-entry of data. Some insurers therefore had bad information. Correction of information caused premiums to rise substantially from those given at the start. One went from about 280 to over 1000! In addition I had problems entering my job as it did not fit their "industry" descriptors. (I'm a receptionist at a GP surgery how unusual is that?) I also could not quite choose the right description of a claim that I made 4 years ago. All in all deeply frustrating. In the end, probably because of all the changes I had to make to get fair comparisons, I was sent an e-mail by MCN to say that I had to call them for a personalised quote. Really? What a waste of time.

This is my first time getting insurance as it's my first bike and thanks to Wayne Shann it wasn't a scary experience like expected! He helped me through the bits I was unsure of. I've heard people on the phone getting quotes form different companies before and I always felt they were being interrogated and I definitely didn't get that experience with MCN! Although it was nice to receive such nice customer service I hope I won't have to be calling you again any time soon! MCN offered the best prices, lovely staff, BSB AND Big Ed. What more could you possibly want!? Thank you :)

Easy enough to use and always gives me a good price on my motorcycle insurance.

This comparison site listed many agencies/companies supplying motorcycle insurance. What I liked was the number of optional extras listed against each, whether these were included in the quote, or were additional cost. Examples were helmet and leathers cover, legal expenses, breakdown, courtesy bike, excess (compulsory and voluntary), protected NCB. What was not included in the quotes was an agency admin fee, which in my case was £10. This one surprised me but I accepted it as my car insurance always includes the agency fee, but it would have been nicer if I had been informed before I selected my provider. Overall though, I really liked the comparisons presentation, it was clear and easy to select the most appropriate for my use.

I have looked for an insurance on few other websites, but MCN had produced cheapest quotes. The whole process was painless. Double check the details passed on to the insurer, thou. Some of details are very random. After that it's a doodle. Pay, check email for details and your done. Get on yer insured motorbike!!!

nightmare was told my old renwal letter was ok as proof as NCB... only to have a E-mail 3days before o go on holiday to say it was not accepatable spent 3 days phoning and e-mailing people who did not no what the other was doing...finally had to deal with insurane company direct ...abousoute shambles hope i dont have to make a claim this year will be going back to my old Broker ASAP after a year..

Easy to fill out, lots of quotes to choose from, quick and easy.

Very easy to use format, quick responce and a good result for me. There are good quotes from many good companies. If your insurance is due just give MCN a go.

its was nice to put in my details and let mcn do the work then you just look threw the quotes and see which you required and pay whats owed simples

The motorcycle quote that came out the cheapest was Swinton. It appeared to have all the same cover as nearest others. I then received a text message the next day from Swinton to phone if I wanted to accept the quote. This I did that day having wanted time to think about it overnight, I was going to buy online that night after work but after the text at work thought I might as well do it then. I was then asked for the details all over agian ! I gave them and was asked (I felt pressured ) into buying other bits for the policy, this I repeatedly declined but it was appeared to be an attempt to hard sell the price up which I did not like. After declining the 'extras'I was given a summary of the policy, (this was now taking much longer than if I had completed it online), I was then horrified that the final price had gone up by £30 odd pounds !! I asked why the price was different to the internet quote and was told that there was a charge for filling in my appication (I had done all this online and was not told in the text or when I started the phone call that they would charge me for details they already had online !!), and something else had automatically been added !! This meant that the price was now not the cheapest by quite a way but as I had spent so long on the phone, was at work and needed cover that day I had to go ahead. I then found out when the policy arrived that there was a cancellation charge which continued for 6 months into the policy if I sold the bike and cancelled. I will definitely not use this again and certainly never Swinton.

First time using MCN compare and very impressed overall. It's unfortunate that many actual results have to be updated on the insurer's websites but generally this was relatively painless. I'd certainly use MCN compare next year.
