I needed a code for an old Nokia E71 as a phone to make / receive calls whilst travelling outside the UK.

Most unlocking companies don't offer this service anymore as the phone is too old / complicated.

The cost was worthwhile as it's significantly cheaper than a smartphone and is now sim free so I can save money using a cheaper sim option than the usual suspects.
