“Was eager to get the LG Arena when it came out. Waited...”

Was eager to get the LG Arena when it came out. Waited for a few months before i got it. Boy wish i hadn't bothered.

All these reviews berating this phone aren't far off the truth. This isn't a very good phone. Actually, its a very bad phone.

So many things that are wrong with it and go wrong, its so frustrating. The main thing its supposed to be - a phone - it doesn't do well. eg. cannot end calls as it doesn't register your touch - crazy!

LG say 'The place to play' on the box. Play what? Theres nowt to play really with this phone, music playing is rubbish, picture viewing is a chore, the rotate your screen function is totally unreliable. The camera is absolutely poor, even after having tried all sorts of different settings and combinations.

To cut a long story short, dont get this phone if you are looking for one, even second hand. You WILL regret it. I cant wait to get a new phone, even though my contract isn't up yet. This was billed as an 'i-phone beater', ha what a joke!

Terrible product from LG.

The LG KM900.....This is without a doubt the most useless phone i have ever owned. Nothing works like it should. You cant even hang up when you finish a call as the touch buttons lock! It frequently losses network, the screen goes blank during calls, the touch screen has issues and locks as you speak, the battery life is terrible, the camera is nowhere near a 5MP, SMS's disappear, it won't open attachements and to think i let my wonderful Sony ericsson for this piece of garbage!!!
Am so not impressed and I cannot recommend this phone to anyone. An honest review would have been good....this phone is touted as an IPHONE clone....i really hope the IPHONE is not as useless. My advise to LG.....stick to tv's and fridges. Mobile phones is wayout of your league!!!

“This is hands-down the worst phone I have ever owned....”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 09/06/2010

This is hands-down the worst phone I have ever owned. I have owned it now for about 15 months.

It freezes
It's so slow
It turns itself off randomly
The touchscreen wont let you hang up sometimes so you end up leaving a rambling voicemail of you trying to commentate on your failed attempts of hanging up.
It doesn't have a single good standard messaging tone.
You cant turn vibrate off when it's loading things like the contacts menu
The alarm randomly goes off while you are setting it.
You can't see the screen in even normal outdoor sunlight, let alone bright light.
The cube interface is completely pointless apart from the favourite contacts, the others are pointless as its all on the main screen.
when there's no reception and you send a text it then doesn't send it when there is reception, you have to cancel and resend.
Did I mention how slow it is?!

Seriously right, I actually can't rely on this phone.. I cant trust it to do anything like alarms or receiving messages.

It even does this weird thing where suddenly it will receive the same message loads of times but you cant open it to read, you then have to delete all the messages off the phone, turn it off, turn it on then delete the ones that somehow didnt get deleted when you said 'delete all' turn it off again, turn it on then prey... just prey..

I repeat. This is THE WORST phone I have ever owned.

This morning i accidently dropped mine and cracked the screen. I literally couldn't care less.. My only concern is having to find a replacement.

Never buy this phone.

I hate this phone. I hate this phone. I hate this phone.

“This phone is absolutely appalling. It dropped calls...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by frogbrains on 02/04/2010

This phone is absolutely appalling. It dropped calls tons, and the signal meter seemed to jump up and down at random, even when keeping it completely still. The battery lasts for about 2 days with the phone locked, and it lost it dropped by 10% for every 3 minutes of phone call, and drops 15% for every 3 minutes of web browsing with WiFi. The built in browser is really, really slow and awful. Java games run incredibly slowly, (slower than on my ancient Sony Ericsson from 2004,) and are mostly unusable due to the useless on-screen control pad for Java apps. The MP3 player is slow and ugly. The video player follows suit. It often turns off completely at random, 50% of the time during a call. The casing of the phone is also ugly; although it has a nice-looking anodized aluminium backing, (like an iMac,) there is a cheap-looking silver bit of plastic all around the edge. And the volume control, power, and camera buttons are ugly and don't suit the rest of the case. When I tried to upgrade the firmware using the software that came with the phone on a CD, it completely broke it and I had to have LG repair it. LG's own software broke an LG phone. Great. The one good thing about this phone is the screen. The 3.5" capacitative touch screen is very responsive, (even when the UI isn't,) and the screen itself is very bright, and can displayer 16 million colours, and a very high resolution. But that is the only good thing. This phone is awful. Do not buy it.

“Feel I ought to write this review, as I have just this...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 04/02/2010

Feel I ought to write this review, as I have just this minute given up with this phone! It's a absolutely rubbish.
The touch screen is verges on hyper sensitive to the opposite extreme of non responses.
It turns itself of as and when it pleases, mid way through conversations is the usual and it's not through battery loss.
The battery life is less than a 1 - 2 hours when it's being used frequently for calls and I dare not use the internet on it because the battery life goes almost straight away.
I have taken good care of this phone, as I do with all my phones, buy protective covers, make sure I follow the instructions for first use etc. Only charge when needed.
About 5 minutes ago I was about to close a business transaction and the damn thing went off- it won't come back on now- AT ALL. I have had the phone since late October and I would never, recommend this phone to anyone.
LG have tried to be clever in their design (because it is quite slim, lightweight and sleek, however the functioning power is zilch.
This is also the second of these phones I have had since October, with the first one doing exactly the same thing!

its got to be the worst phone ive had the misfortune to be given as areplacement by my home insurance company, from looking at prices for the handset starting £325 last october, I should have requested the money and bought another nokia,on the plus side the phone has good battery life slow but alright camera, touch screen is very hit and miss, usless in wet weather,This phone needs to be withdrawn and a suitable replacement offered if LG think that customers would buy any phone from them after havving this awful device. I wish that id reviwed this device on the internet before agreeing to except it for the loss of a nokia n95 8gb.

“The LG Arena has the potential to be very good, but...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 08/10/2009

The LG Arena has the potential to be very good, but has several software and hardware issues that blight it.
1. It will crash if you try to edit a text box with a lot of info in it (e.g. an email).
2. The reception is hopeless - it constantly skips between 2G and 3G networks, frequently saying there is no reception even in strng signal areas.
3. Internet connections regularly lock up - requiring a reboot to clear.
4. The GPS is good when it works, but most of the time it thinks I live at lat/long 0/0 - i.e. in the sea off Africa.
5. While you can use the phone in landscape orientation for entering text, the main menus do not rotate so you constantly have to flip your phone round.
6. The power button is used to unlock the phone. It sits on top and sticks out just enough that when it's in your pocket it often unlocks itself and then turns itself off.
7. Battery life is atrocious. With very light usage (internet and calls), you'll be lucky to get 24 hours out of it.
8. There isn't very much room for emails - a mere couple of hundred in total is your limit.
9. Email can only be retrieved using the phone network - not Wi-fi, so be careful if you try collecting your email abroad.
On the plus side the screen is very good. The radio is ok, although doesn't get great reception.
Caveat emptor...

I have the LG Arena KM900 & I have never disliked a phone so much as I do this 1. I have always had Nokia's or Sony Ericsson's & never had any problems.

This is my 1st LG but 2nd mobile from T-mobile & an unwanted upgrade from them. The phone constantly crashes, freezes & I can't access all the features on the phone. I can charge mine near enough everyday. I can take pictures but I can't send or receive them albeit T-Mobile have sent all the settings to the phone so that I can.

This is the worst phone ever.

“The LG Arena KM900 is a physically strong and well...”

★★★☆☆

written by Nilesh Patel on 30/04/2009

The LG Arena KM900 is a physically strong and well built phone. It comes with many features. Touch screen is quite responsive. Some reviews have said that they are unable to text properly, I have myself had no problems, I am a fast texter too. The touch screen user interface is in early stages for LG but things can only get better. (for future phones).

The only gripe I have with this phone is that the user Interface can be a bit slow. The screen sometimes turns off when u get a call, so you are frantically trying to get to the power button while you are getting a call so u can see who is calling.

Alot of patience is needed with this phone if you want to be proud of it. Considering I dont have much, I think I do well.
