Stonie's review of Woodstar DC04 Dust Extractor

“Workshop dust extraction - portable units”

Written on: 09/12/2011 by Stonie (6 reviews written)

This is a lightweight extractor that has a variety of hose adaptors to suit most applications. I've had one for over a year now and in that time I've noticed the following:

> Great suction, powerful motor.
> Good power cord length and useful hose length for most jobs
> Good portability

> Filters are rubbish, supplied filter has a bag over it to weed out fine particles, however, due to ridiculous design, it can't seal properly and dust gets through and is blown into the air. Bags eventually crush the supplied filter and it needs to be thrown.
> Spare filter is proving hard to find.
> On/Off switch failed after a few months due to dust being blown between contacts - can be overhauled though.

This is good value but with more thought it could have been great value! Look for filter spares before you buy.
