Good out of the box, but poor after 6 months & not waterproof!

Don't be fooled by the good initial reviews, they work well out of the box, giving a fast, close shave. However, I've had two of these now, the first one failed after 8 months due to water penetration killing the LCD display and it was replaced under warranty by the retailer, but still cost me postage. The replacement failed for the same reason again after another eight months and that's it - no more replacements and Panasonic 'customer service' don't want to know - money wasted. These expensive Chinese made shavers do not appear to be fully waterproof which is a bit of a snag for a wet/dry shaver and the Vortex cleaning unit is an unnecessary and expensive gimmick. The performance may seem very good when they are new, but it is only average after 6 months or so and the shaver is very noisy. I certainly wouldn't buy another Panasonic shaver.
