I took it when I was younger but now I don't know as I am a diabetic stage 2. I must see my doctor as I have a sore throat and sneezing. Its just the common cold.but don't know what to take now.

Been ill for 9 days, no sleep so tried this, took my liquid at 11.50, hoping to go bed at 12.30, 3 am when it started to kick in, 6 am woke up with some horrific dreams. Very hard to describe the feeling.

My best friend has sworn by night nurse for years. As she's particularly ill this weekend she's shelled out over 20 quid for round the clock nursing, and the day nurse has bought her out in a rash! I feel that this is a plot by the manufacturer to create their own market - day nurse makes you worse so that you buy more night nurse! Scandalous! She's now defecting to Boot's own nighttime remedy and will no longer entertain any form of liquid nurse. You've lost a good un here GlaxoSmithKline!

I will always go straight to the night nurse bottle when I begin getting cold / flu symptoms. It eases my sore throat and it helps me get a full nights sleep without waking up once with a cough or sore, dry throat. I wake up the next day feeling tons better! Sorry to see a few bad reviews here but I personally cannot fault it

I absolutely love Night Nurse, it works wonders if I am feeling unwell and I literally have the best deepest sleep of my life when using it. The only consolation of a cold or flu is that I know I can take this and will have the best sleep ever! I really don’t understand the bad reviews, nothing beats it for me. Great stuff.

In all honesty, after seeing the previous reviews on this website I was very anxious on taking night nurse as it was my first time last night. Reviews such as “blacked out and woke up in hospital” were very concerning to me so I was naturally scared to take the medicine. After purchasing it yesterday I took half the recommended dose of 4 5ml spoons, as I was nervous. I took half the dose and 15/20 mins after I noticed the affects, my coughing got better and I couldn’t notice my runny nose, it really numbed the nasty feeling and sensation of a dry tickly throat and runny nose. I woke up perfectly fine and tonight I will take the full recommended dose without having doubts. I’m still in disbelief with the previous reviews, maybe they took other Medications within the 4 hour period or had alcohol. I would highly recommend this to anyone with those symptoms.

Cold is normal so use soup, vitamins, Nasal spray or simple paracetamol. This medicine can shoot your BP at rapid rate. If you are BP patient it is disaster. And if you are then you could feel very dizzy and confuse. Such medicine should be banned to sell on shelf . Seller can simply says one should read leaflet before taking medicine but rarely one read it before taking medicine

I have been suffering from flu symptoms all week and so bought night and day nurse capsules. I took a days dose. After taking the night one I felt very irritable and couldn’t sleep even though I was extremely tired. Today (the following day) I have the shakes, ringing in my ears, very very dizzy and have to keep lying down as I feel like I am going to pass out. It’s a very strange feeling I have to say. When I lay down earlier feeling drunk I woke up just over three hours later. I’m hoping this feeling won’t last as its not at all nice. On the plus side, my aches, pains, runny nose, cough, temperature have all gone. If I were to take it again I would half the dose.

On 2nd of January 2018 I felt a heavy cold coming on so that night I got the bottle of night nurse out. I read the instructions as I had never taken it before. I took the recommended dose and went to bed. An hour later I was aware I needed the toilet. I spent the next 12 hours constantly blacking out! I blacked out 5 times. I have never blacked out before in my life. I'm a 70 year old woman, and I don't drink alcohol. I have a cut over my left eye and the biggest black eye ever. I have broken ribs as well, which have caused an abscess to form inside me. I have lost a holiday that was booked. Its almost a month later and I'm still in agony and very week.

OMG I had the same experience - Literally TO HELL AND BACK! I too woke within an hour, FULLY aware I needed a toilet. But it didn't stop there …. 12 hours later I was blue lighted to hospital as my bowl went into spasm.

I took the recommended dose of NN last night as flu taking a long time to shift. Slept like a log, couldn't wake up but been agitated and anxious all day. Leaping around like a frog even to Bach orchestral suites. Something nasty in NN, done with it. Just want the speeding sensation to wear off. Beware this vile tasting stuff!

Absolutely swear by night nurse liquid, I know if I have a heavy cold (not just a case of the sniffles) that if I take this I’ll have an excellent nights sleep and will recover far quicker by using it. The only issue I have is that it makes me very groggy and would never drive or consider myself responsible the next day so only ever take it if I know I have the day off. The benefits far out way the costs for me though, I’ve wiitnessed it take it out a heavy cold in just one dose. It’s my holy grail of cold/flu remedies. I know there are quite a few reviews on here cautioning against its use and they are valid, its an over the counter chemist only product for a reason and must be used responsibly ie read the info leaflet and pay heed to it!

I was recommended night nurse at a pharmacy, I found it quite expensive (especially as I am a first year uni student) but I gave it a go. Tried it for my minor cold without much success, but I assumed it was because I wasn't that ill. When I later got a more serious feeling cold with more symptoms I took it that night, however come the third (and final) day of taking the medicine I was actually feeling much worse than before - my nose was more blocked and I had progressed to coughing and having a sore throat. I would not recommend you buy this - it didn't even help me sleep! Now I am stuck with this rubbish medicine as I cannot justify spending yet more money on another as a student. Beware!

If you’ve a bad cold or flu it will certainly aid sleep. Has to be the liquid form as the capsules aren’t nearly as affective. Downside is the suspension tastes absolutely disgusting and a bit of a challenge to keep down!

Night nurse is always in stock in my medicine cabinet. Somehow it has the ability to hault all flu/cold symptoms almost instantly and help you sleep soundly. I have never been able to find a cure quite like it

The only med that makes me better in no time. I enjoy the taste, although it does make me sneeze, as with day nurse. Night nurse helps me sleep and i feel alot brighter and better in the morning. The texture is great, it soothes my throat too. This is the medicine i use first and for most. I only use it a short time and im back on form in no time.

I took the recommended dose of 20ml. Couldn't quite swallow it all in one go, so did so in 2. First one tasted awful. Managed the second. Night Nurse was in my body for a mere 5 seconds before it made me projectile vomit. Clearly my body did not want it in my system. So really can't say how well it worked for my sleep as it already lost the race the second it entered my body. I feel something that makes one as sick as that shouldn't be sold. Perhaps it was the taste, which I can describe as mouth wash mixed with window cleaner, however I have a strong stomach usually so perhaps not.

I absolutely love night nurse liquid when I have a horrible cold. Its the only medicine that gets me through the night when the cold is at it's worst. What i really liked was lying in bed and just going into that drowsy mode and then i open my eyes and its morning! I get up the following morning feeling totally refreshed. Awsome stuff!! Would recommend it to anyone.

Took 20ml of night nurse just as I went to bed, not ten minutes later I woke up in the middle of a painful coughing fit which I hadn't had before. Woken up this morning and my symptoms are far worse than when I went to bed, so although it made me sleepy I believe it made my cough worse, although it did help my flu symptoms, and since I was improving before taking it and took nothing else then it has to have been this that made me worse.

Night nurse capsules are awesome (I'm 50 and British, so rarely use this expression). If you suffer from grogginess in the morning (as I did) switch to a single capsule (half the dose) and they work a treat. I've even used them whilst sharing a room on holiday with a friend that snores really badly - had an excellent nights sleep and woke up completely refreshed. Unfortunately I only had 4 in my wash bag so the last three nights were a bit trying. If they slapped in a bit of aspirin and metformin it would probably become a wonder drug.

Never had a problem with night nurse, it works wonders! Think you need to go to the doctors and see if you have any problems you are not aware of! I don’t think one cap of night nurse could cause that much damage

Im 100% fit thank you very much, I have just done 23 park runs at the age of 72.
Many people I have spoken to have had very bad reactions to night nurse. Your just one of the lucky ones.
