RN Williams of Wolverhampton are an entirely unprofessional and unethical firm. They have treated my parents, two elderly and vulnerable customers of many years standing with nothing but contempt having lost their house deeds and wills which had been lodged with them for safekeeping. This only became apparent when they tried to sell their house and relocate to be closer to family. R N Williams attempted to blame my parents (which failed since my father had kept all correspondence over a fifty year period). It also became apparent from this correspondence that the deeds had been lost previously. They eventually paid for the loss of the deeds thanks entirely to the persistence and professionalism of the firm of solicitors we engaged to handle the sale of the property. Nevertheless, we came close to losing the buyer and this caused a great deal of unnecessary delay and distress. This was exacerbated by the fact that my parents are in their late eighties and were having to sell the home they had lived in since the 1960s due to ill health. They are from the generation who believe that a firm of solicitors would, without question, be honourable and trustworthy. R N Williams continue to refuse to meet financial losses in respect of the loss of the wills with an arrogant disregard of their responsibilities. The Ombudsman is the next step. In summary, RN Williams are unprofessional, incompetent and dishonourable. Avoid at all costs. Be warned.
