“Avoid them!”

My aunt passed away 20 months ago and we still have not got any responses from Chorus Law. Whenever we try to contact our probate manager, the only answer is: "we currently await on a property sale." For 20 months?? They treat us with disrespect and contemptuous manners. We definitely do not recommend them to anyone… Read Full Review

“Excellent service; very good communication. Chorus Law...”

Chorus Law managed the process of probate for my mother’s estate. Throughout the process, staff (especially our case manager JLO) were careful to explain the process and to communicate regularly about progress. Any queries were answered very promptly - usually within the hour - and everything was explained very clearly. “Probate: Expensive, bad service and not easy to get...”

Decided to go with Simplify as came recommended by Bereavement Office at hospital and by Bank. Initial email resulted in a form attached which had to be signed and returned (by email) saying that I had read the terms and conditions and the booklet! Signed it after querying it and 10 days later had the home visit from the 'salesman' and re-signed the documents. A couple of days later I had to ring their office. The service provided by my case manager SW and her colleagues was excellent throughout the probate process. My case manager was professional, kind, considerate and knowledgeable and helped ensure a good experience. Progress updates were always provided on time and all questions were answered to my satisfaction. I would say the videos and training sessions on the website did not seem to work - I would have liked to have found out more information about what was going on. I'm writing this on behalf of myself and my siblings. When our father passed away the banks instructed us go to probate so that his estate could be closed. The banks put us in touch with Chorus Law. A representative was sent round to my house where we discussed the process that was needed for the estate to go through probate. “A VERY GOOD PROBATE SERVICE”

Dealing with my father's estate proved to a bit hurdle-ridden with his bank having mislaid his will in archive and my aged and failing mother, named as executrix, being both unwilling and unable to perform that role. My Chorus Law Case Officer, SW, was at all times both patient and helpful in resolving these problems and I would have no hesitation in recommending her or seeking her help in future. We're sorry that you've found it difficult to contact your Probate Manager.

To provide consistency of service and approach, a dedicated Probate Manager is allocated for each Estate. Feedback from our customers is very positive, as they feel that the direct relationship helps to provide reassurance at what can be a very stressful or emotional time. If the dedicated Case Manager is not available at the time contact is made, it can sometimes be difficult to respond immediately to specific questions about an individual Estate. We do, however, try to ensure that someone is available to answer customer queries at all times.

Hi there – many thanks for taking the time to leave a review; we are always grateful for opportunities to improve our service.

When it comes to timescales for obtaining Probate, these can vary, depending on a number of factors, some of which are outside our control.

With regards to the feeling that you were not kept regularly updated, we do allocate a dedicated Probate Manager to each Estate. If the dedicated Case Manager is not available at the time contact is made, it can sometimes be difficult to respond immediately, but we do try to ensure that someone is available to answer customer queries at all times.

We always look for ways in which we can improve our service, particularly if a customer has felt dissatisfied. Could you provide us with your case number via email (you'll find it on our Review Centre page) so that we can take a look into the particulars of your case?
