Not well known in the UK, but owned by Briggs and Stratton and manufactured in the United States. I started out looking for a John Deere X320 or X540, two thing s happened JD raise prices and while looking at the X540 I spotted a made in China sticker on it. That did it time to look further afield. I came across Simplicity, and had a look. The quality is outstanding, the model I chose was the Conquest with a 23 Hp Vangaurd engine and a 50 inch deck. No power steering. Everywhere you look on the Simplicity has Made in the USA on it, here in the UK we could learn a lot from that instead of buying imported tat.
I own just over and acre on a slope and the Conquest was demoed by the importer before I bought one. The power is great, it but grass in excess of three feet high, up hill and in the rain, during the demo. The Conquest has diff lock and on certain parts this is a must as the tractor would be stuck without it. It uses less than a gallon an hour.
The Conquest has a K66 transmission which is third on the list with Tuff Torq the manufacturer. The steering doesn't need power and is light, the deck lift is spring assisted, and easy to lift and lower. I use a 650 lb cart behind it.
Great piece of kit, quality product and made in the USA. Im 6' 2"" and 16 stone, this mower is physical large so I dont look like one of ape on a trike the Yanks go on about.
