“Remote Control”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/10/2012

I have a Panasonic television, nothing wrong with this television, but I had to change the batteries in my remote. I must admit my wife took batteries out and before I could put the new ones in she informed me she did not know new batteries had to be inserted within 10 minutes.
All went well as did not loose sky channels, only the volumne. After going into Sky Active and following the instructions the Model number of my television did not appear. After 2 hours I managed to get a page telling me five different codes would activate the remote volumne. None of these worked. That was the morning taken care of.
In the afternoon I got online and managed to talk to an Advisor, or rather type my question to the Advisor. She went though all the same procedure, which did not work of-course, she gave me one code number which I had already tried. After an hour she told me I needed a new remote. My television and remote is only 4 years old. It took me about an hour to find this Advisor to "chat to". That was the afternoon taken care of.
I did not want to bother my son-in-laws friend, who works for Sky but had to text him. He came round on his way home from work and fixed the volumne on the remote in a second.
What I am reporting to anyone out there is that there is a Standard Code - 0051 - for all these televisions. The instructions on the Sky Active page are useless, wasted practically a whole day for me and why does Sky not tell us this code?
