After working for 36 years, for the first I had to claim for Employment Support Allowance and have been refused because I have not made enough contributions! Every person I have spoken to at the call centre treat you with total contempt and one advisor answered the phone and promptly told me I had to ring back as he couldn't help with any information! I asked another advisor how to contact a decision maker and how to complain and her response was "you only want to complain because your claim has been refused" and said there was nothing else to say! I complained in writing and 4 weeks later, I am still waiting for a response. And to think taxpayers are funding such a tshambolic government department.
