I've been online banking with various financial outlets for a number of years now, I'm no computer whizz kid but managed to muddle through without much problem on these sites. Have recently opened a Clydesdale online account thinking it would be pretty much the same and quickly up and running so I could manage finances online. No such luck, bank manager made it sound like you were instantly up and running as soon as you put some cash in. Forgot to say you'd to wait for this and that in post, only then could you register for phone banking, then again wait for things in post before you could get online banking registered. Then I discover if you want to move more than £300 you need to order some sort of security token which should arrive in about another week! So that's a month past now and I've still not been able to move money out of this account. So not done much with their website either but first impressions are not great compared to other banking sites I've used.

I'm adding to my post above here. Now 7 weeks since I opened my account, security token finally arrived 4 day's ago. Took 3 attempts to activate that as you would get so far then the page you needed would be "unavailable". Have logged in 4 or 5 times now and twice of those it has decided the details I have been extra careful in putting in given all the grief so far are wrong and locked me out ,then you have to phone an 0844 number which costs money to get unlocked. Just off phone, I am now supposedly unlocked but still won't accept my details and they wanted to transfer me to another department to see what i was doing wrong. I've been internet banking regularly with a number of banks for years and in all that time only locked myself out once. Hung up on them and won't be phoning back to make them any more money from their phone lines. First chance I get I'm closing this account and moving it elsewhere. Not even worth a one star rating!

I agree with Als222's comments. I now can't log-in as the site keeps asking me to answer a 'security question' that I did not choose when I carefully set up. Their internet helpline experts! said they would rejig the system to allow me to log-in but they managed that only once. I try to log-in again and I am back to the same problem grrr. Phoned again and eventually I was told suprise surprise there could be a fault in our system can you wait until after 2pm and try again? Guess what...problem still there after 2pm. You are right I am leaving for another bank :(
