Boots Repel Extra Strength

Tired of being bitten by insects in bed, I used this spray carefully - in a vented area and in a different room to where I sleep. Just a light spray on my arms, legs and torso. Careful not to get any near my face or on my hands. I washed my hands afterwards.

Went to bed and slept for an hour. I woke and rubbed my eye. Suddenly a maddening burning sensation around the skin of my eyes. It took several washes to rid myself of the pain and I felt a tender pain for over 24 hrs.

Mere accidental transference from my body to hands as I slept, was enough to make this product dangerous if I touched my face.

So if you're using this product, you run a risk if you accidentally touch any part of your skin that has been sprayed. I wonder how many of us can avoid scratching an itch or touching an arm throughout the day - and you can forget trying to sleep with this spray on.

I called Boots HQ the following morning. Initially I was told there wasn't even a mechanism for talking to someone about this potentially dangerous situation. (But hey, I could get a refund...) Took another hr of effort to eventually get through to someone who took my details with a promise someone would get back to me quickly because of the health worries with this product.

Well that was nearly 5 days ago. Seems Boots just doesn't care. I'll have to take this up elsewhere and bring them to task.

If you don't want to experience unexpected problems, avoid avoid avoid - and buy a more reputable brand of repellent.

Having used it once I had a severe allergic reaction with extreme itching and covered in spots. Nothing on bottle to disclose potential dangers of irritation or allergies. Have never suffered an allergy before and have used jungle formula etc before.
