Dolomites, Hotel Conturines Posta

Having stayed at Hotel Conturines Posta during the Maratona, I couldn't ask for a friendlier and more accomodating hotel to meet the needs of a cyclist. Having brought over 30 friends and work colleagues, I was over the moon with the hotel (staff, food, rooms, sauna, safe bike storage etc.)

The hotel was full to the rafters, but our needs were always catered for, even early morning breakfast on race day (4:45am!!!) Delicious food that never seemed to end (the food was not only high quality, but served with Italian style) The service in the hotel was like that of a 5 star hotel, they knew how I wanted my coffee every morning (I probably made them cry the way I drank it, but they wanted to ensure it was how I liked it!)

For those wanting to train for big cycling events, I highly recommend staying at this hotel, the mountains and scenery were stunning, however you need to remember it's the time on the bike that counts not the miles, there are no flat sections! You also need to understand the Italian drivers know how to treat you with respect on the bike and give you the space you need.

I'll certainly be back next year at the hotel to ride with or without a Maratona place!- a fabulous family run business.
