Home Away From Home
Decided to take a break for the weekend from pebbly Brighton over to sandy Bournemouth. As usual google and surf around for a bed for one. As per normal, not many single rooms at honest prices about nowadays. Realy rubs me up the wrong way when hoteliers gives single guests the cold shoulder with their £45 single, £50 double rates! Came across the Westby so I booked for two nights.
From the minute I arrived on Friday noon till I left on Sunday 1000hrs, Wife, Husband and their little Porter (cheeky little Tsit Tsu dog) made me feel very welcome and I left feeling totally refreshed, relaxed and knew I had a well earned break. In a nutshell, they offer a typical English family's homestay. Nicely decorated, absolutely clean, sumptious yet simple bedding which I like and the breakfasts made me rush to the gym as soon as I got back!
Its not often I've encountered and enjoyed good British service, an unfortunate fact why most of us fly off even for a weekend break, but the Westby certainly have challenged my negative assumption and so it should and I will be back. Minutes walk to the beach and town centre and about £8 taxi fare into Bournemouth triangle. Thanks for a marvellous weekend break.
Oh, before anyone jumps the gauntlet and utters that I'm related in anyway to the Westby, if you have read my other reviews here and in the reviewcentre, you will note my reviews are always very frank and straight to the point and usually negative, if need to. So I'm certainly not friends nor related in anyway to the Westby, just a satisfied guest sharing my invaluable discovery with other fellow consumers.
