The Mandarin Oriental hotel consistently wins awards and is widely recognised as the best in KL - quite an achievement as every hotel I've ever stayed in in that city has been outstanding by European or American standards. We stayed at the MO for a trade show and had Club rooms - a little extra but well worth the expense. For any of the club floor options you get 5 items of laundry, free breakfast, free internet access, free afternoon tea (not great) and free drinks and nibbles each evening that would cost you £20 or more in the bar. The rooms were very nice - corner rooms with views over the city. Very quiet, good size, nice bathrooms. Not as amazing as the KL Hilton which is like something out of Elle Deco but still very nice. A different bizarre local fruit on the fruit stand each day - I have no idea what some of them were.
The staff were stunning - despite having 30 floors, they know and use your name. When you arrive they greet you at the car and take you to your room for check in. A final point - I had an early check in which was supposed to be charged at a full night rate. When I checked out there was no charge.
I'm getting hard to impress but I liked this a lot!
