We booked a night through Central Reservations at the hotel in Stratford,London, as this was the closest hotel to London 2017
As one of our party was disabled we asked for a room that could accommodate 3 of us. We were told that the hotel would put an extra bed in the accessible room, even though this was not the norm. The booking took quite a while as it had to be confirm with the hotel that this would be ok
Last night I decided to phone up the hotel to confirm this was still the case. The hotel told me that there was no way they could put another bed in the accessible room, due to Health & Safety , and we would either have to go in a family room where the wheelchair might not fit through the bathroom doorway , book another room or cancel. It was agreed we were misadvised by the Travelodge.
We have had to cancel the break and now will have to try and sell our London 2017 tickets, hoping we may be able to get some of the money back, although I suspect we will not get all of the money back
I can not believe how we have been treated by a large hotel chain. We booked the room very early on and now to find out they have changed their policies or have just realised they have made a mistake is absolutely shocking, infuriating and saddening.
So, if you are disabled , get ready to be treated poorly by Travelodge, soon to be renamed:
TRAVEL BODGE!
