Running & Fixing A Danz Tub On The Cheap
Was given a broken Danz Atlantic hot tub for free & set about getting it working.
I have to start by saying I'm competent with electronics & electrics.
My danz tub uses Whirlpool LX pumps, a GD-7005 control system and Chinese standard piping diameters. You can check yours by looking at the pump labels and the control box labels and compare to pictures online (Google images). Be mindful that different pumps have inlets & outlets in different orientations, so it's just a case of comparing to what you've got to get the correct replacement items.
The GD-7005 system has two Grey or blue boxes & the top touch control panel. The smaller box contains the logic board, the larger box contains the power relay board.
My atlantic tub was not heating up, so could've been either control board, power board or heater unit. After checking, it turned out to be a faulty heater element, a faulty pressure switch and a faulty power board. All happily fixed for less than £40. Yes, the previous owner was surprised as he'd already paid one engineer to fail fixing it & had been quoted a further £500+ to fix it.
Anyone competent with a multimeter can check the control circuits & relays, they are 12v control voltages but of course you'll be working around 240v mains to the relay board too, so if not competent leave this to a professional.
Using eBay or a Chinese supplier like aliexpress gives access to all the spares you need. Fitting a new heating element is easy (two nuts) once the tub is drained and heater tube unit removed, or you can just fit a new heater tube unit complete that comes with a new pressure switch already fitted. A simple test of your pressure switch is to make up a short wire link to short the terminals, if the tub heats up then you've found your faulty pressure switch. Inside the heater unit is the pressure switch and two thermostats.just check each in turn for continuity with power off to find faults. Available separately from China or in UK from Mr tubby, the heating element is easy to change, two small nuts and a sealing ring (once tub drained of course). The power board is fairly simple to diagnose as it's just a board full of relays, if they get 12v from the control board they should click & you'll hear them. Each pump has its own relay and the heater has twin relays to share the load. The twin heater relays take the most load for the most time, so have the highest potential to fail. My fault was cured by fixing a dry circuit board joint with a soldering iron. There are very thick solder tracks on the rear of the board and these can age and go intermittent. Just heat up and apply plenty of new solder to fix. My relays were fine, but if they'd failed it's hard to find them new, so it's probably time for a new power board. But to keep costs down I would've slaved in two 40A automotive 12v relays if my heater relays had failed, there is room in the box to do this but not everyone is competent to do this fix, so don't attempt it unless you have an understanding of electronics.
Other parts for danz tubs are still readily available and can keep an older tub running cheaply rather than scrapping it.
Prices online for spares (Oct 2018) -
Whirlpool LX circulation pump £125.
Whirlpool LX air blower £150.
GD-7005 relay board £215.
GD-7005 top display £130.
GD-7005 complete system (all boxes) £350.
GD-7005 Remote control £45.
H30-R1 heater unit £75.
H30-R1 heating element £25.
H30-R1 pressure switch £15.
Pipe o-rings £4 pair.
Temperature sensor waterproof (for filter compartment) 10K NTC 1%. £2.
So for anyone confident enough to fix their own tub & shopping around for spare parts, these danz Chinese tubs are still a good secondhand bargain compared to buying a new tub. Pipes and fittings are also available by measuring the pipe diameter and ordering the parts online. Fitting pipe parts is the same process as plastic domestic waste plumbing fittings (using solvent adhesive) They are not difficult to fix.
Good luck & enjoy your bargain fixed hot tub!
For the heater relays (2 req'd) search ebay for 'Songchuan 855AWP-1A-C2 12VDC 30A 4 Pins Air Conditioning Relay'
For the pump relays (one for each pump) search ebay for '5pcs SLA-12VDC-SL-A 12V DC SONGLE Power Relay PCB Type'
Hope that helps.
Hi, if your controler is gd-7005 the relays are readily available from eBay.

Having heater relay issues myself! Where did you get the relays from?
Cheers. Happy to pass on experience. Hope you get your tub up & running again.
mine is the same tub i think. Id found the specs for the DH1.0 and the JA series but the dimensions weren't tying up. Seeing as how your original review was so long ago i wasnt even sure you'd see my reply.
I will go and check the pump you mention.
Youre and gentleman and scholar mate, thank you very much indeed.

Customer Service Non Existent, Beware!!!
I made my initial enquiry back in September and proceeded to pay a deposit of £500 which was later followed up with another payment of £2579 with the understanding that i would likely receive my tub in October.
Toward the end of September i had some unfortunate news within the family and therefore needed to acquire some funds to aid in paying toward the costs, which led me to cancel my contract with them all done within their T&C's which was acknowledged by the MD. I tried to appeal for them to make the refund sooner than their 30 days due to my extenuating circumstances but that did not transpire unfortunately.
On numerous occasions i had made phone calls and spoke to Bianca asking about getting the refund early and each time i was promised somebody would get back to me, which also never happened.
So 1 week prior to the 30 day refund date i again made a call to Bianca and queried whether my refund would be received as scheduled to which i was informed that it was in the cash flow and that it should be in on time. I said that should was not good enough and was told that honestly the refunds are down to the MD to deal with.
30 Days later no refund received, e-mails were sent to the MD and acknowledged with a promise from the MD that he would get back to me that day. No phone call!!
I spoke to trading standards, FCA all of which stated that i have a case which is now in the process of being handled. I have also been informed that some of their T&C's aren't correct, as well as their Breach of Contract with myself with their own T&C's.
Since raising this with the above professional bodies and sending the MD a letter he has replied saying that the refund is in hand but yet again they have not paid back the sum when stated.
I understand that Danz does sell hot tubs at very attractive prices by comparison to other companies but i would be very wary on handing my money over on the promise of receiving items by a said date. There are companies like Hot Tub Superstore etc etc which while they do cost slightly more you are getting a far superior experience in customer service, after sales and probably product.
Once Danz have got your money God only knows what goes on after that!!

Bad After Sales
After the initial telephone order of my tiny spa contact was practically non existant. Advised my tub was in stock so quick delivery (took several calls from myself chasing date) tub arrived (delivery men were fab, access a problem but they got around that with hard work after me being advised by lady at Danz to allow them to kerbside it.....communal bath for neighbours maybe ??) Not been able to get my chemical pack or accessories I ordered along with tub (paid £129 for)and despite daily phone calls keep getting no satisfactory answers or promised call backs....Also I was led to believe my tub would have radio built in which it does not !! very unhappy with my so called customer experience with this company.

New "tiny" Model Hot Tub
When we came to downsize our hot tub I spoke to a number of dealers, they all wanted to sell me a new tub, but none of them wanted to take the old one away or give advice on its removal.
The staff at Danz on the other hand could not have been more helpfull. They arranged for a very efficient team to dispose of it.
Ordering the new tub was simple and straight forward. Their product knowledge was top notch, sound advice was offered and taken. They kept us up to date on the arrival in the country of the replacement, likely delivery dates etc.
Our new "Tiny" tub has arrived. It was delivered at the quoted time by two efficient men and was filled and warming up in next to no time.
I am exremely please with the service I got from Danz Spas. The staff go out of their way to help and the product they sell is of the highest quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family.
The only possible downside was the manufacturing delay, but at least you know it has not been hanging around in a warehouse for years

Quality Product - Great Service
Its not often i take the time to write a review online unless its negative, but I wanted to make an exception. This company thrives on people reading reviews and speaking to existing customers. I was cautious about buying something this expensive that I hadn't seen, and a couple of other companies called blue whale and hot tub suppliers weren't hugely helpful in that area.
Nic at Danz was able to find me a customer in Blackburn that had the Niagara spa I wanted, and I was able to go and have a chat and see the tub and read some reviews online, and thats what pushed me to buy.
Great decision. The spa is amazing, my family love it, we've got some hot tub parties planned for this summer, going to get some lights and flame torches around the decking to make it all look fantastic.
I would like to say thanks to all at Danz, your help and expert knowledge has been appreciated, and sets you apart from the competition. I have no issues in recommending the company, and the Niagara spa specifically.

Love My Hot Tub!
I bought the Sunset 2 hot tub, and I absolute love it. The kids love it too, it looks amazing at night time. Great value for money. I was apprehensive about buying something this expensive online without seeing it first, but the quality is superb, the colours are amazing and the water is so hot! Great aftercare too, the technical guys are great with advice if youre a tub novice like me!!!
