Rosetta Stone Language Courses

So im a little surprised about the bad references here.

I agree that rosetta stone is expensive.

But personally I think that it is worth it! Ive been studying hebrew with rosetta for about two years now and Ive made great progress with it. It is very easy to use and understand, i never had issues with the programm, it works perfectly.

I would recommend it to anyone who can afford it. It is great and teaches you the language like children learn a language.

Rosetta Stone seems to work provided you do not use the on line resources. When t crashes it mess up everything and makes it very difficult to reconstitute your work on the off line version. Customer service is designed to keep you waiting until the refund period has expired.

Save your money

Bought the product. Wouldn't connect to there server. Spoke via web chat. Spent 45 mins on aworkaround no joy, but unable to help help at weekends as the Tier 2 department or customer services don't work weekends. Your confused? So am I. Avoid wasting your money on badly supported products.

My review is for the Rosetta Stone - Spanish (Spain) edition.

I learn best using mostly audio/visual techniques with some written. Rosetta stone should have been ideal for me. It hasn't proved as effective as other similar courses.

At first sight Rosetta stone is a well presented program. However once I started using it, it wasn't as wonderful as the sales blurb leads you to believe.

You spend more time looking for pictures. Often I have understood the Spanish perfectly but failed to work out which picture I should click on. It isn't the end of the world to get some answers wrong but it does get very irritating.

The program seems to over emphasise the use of the progressive tense. There is no explanation in the software of the grammar used.

Rosetta Stone Language Courses is an excellent although expensive package, regrettably (in my case) rendered unusable by customer services' apparent refusal to accept my proof of purchase. I purchased a language tutor, not a share of Rosetta Stone's piracy problems, and now have nothing.
