Quoted renewal terms were 50% up on last year so I called to query this. Long, long wait on the phone but eventually got through. Was told they would look at an alternative insurer and call back later. I did get a call back but the alternative quote was not much better and involved a £10,000 deductible on jewellery which, considering we don't have any items worth that much, seemed like a pretty clear message that my business was not required. Have found exactly the same terms as last year through another broker, with the same insurer, for half the renewal quote !
