Carcass, Reek Of Putrefaction - To be honest, the production on this album is absolutely rubbish. The riffs are muddied up something rotten, but after a few listens, you'll soon see past it. Some of the riffs you can actually hear after a while, but the lyrics are absolutely fantastic! For example, from "Physcopathologist," "I like to slide my hand inside your stomach, and rip the putrid remains, drink the pus and munch on the internal organs until all the casket is drained." Anyone who takes that seriously deserves to be shot. The riffs, although muddied, are brilliant, espcially on burnt to a crisp. The best song on the album is "Oxidised Razor Masticator," but there are many highlights on this album. The drumming is similar to Mick Harris of Napalm Death's, but a bit less technical, it still has the blastbeats but there is just somthing about Mick's that gives it the edge. Another thing I loved about the lyrics is the naming of the solos, I think that is brilliant!!!!! Definitely one to go for if you don't mind terrible production on an album.
