“total fitness shambolic gyms”

i have been perusing over various comments on total fitness and i am not in the least surprised in the comments that i have read. i have only came across a couple of positive posts. at a creditors meeting re the closure of the irish gyms the senior executives of the "new"ly formed total fitness 2010 were referred to as "thieves"
conditions at my local branch are attrocious. run down, broken equipment, thick dust and cobwebs hanging from pipes, girders and indeed the upper reaches of the walls.this is not a detrimental comment about the gym staff, specialist cleaners and equipment are needed. the weights are worn, and the weight indicator tags have long since fell off the majority of the dumbells and barbells.
i read that there was £5 million to be invested in the gyms. that was in nov 2010. my gym has had a lick of paint on the entrance steps,i am at a loss to see any other improvements. i have heard that this place is about ambience,to look good for the prospective customer. a nice cafe, carpeting and the newly painted steps. sign your contract and repent at your leisure. over the years i have seen large turnovers in staff and indeed i have seen the staff numbers cut to the bone.
so much so that a members body was found floating in the swimming pool at wakefield total fitness. it was not spotted by a lifeguard,as there wasnt one patrolling the pool, though someone was supposedly "keeping an eye on the pool." it was a member who was in the gym who spotted the body and alerted the staff. the incident was reported in the wakefield express. google the paper and in their search engine enter total fitness and further details will be revealed.
the hydrotherapy pool is very therapeutic.
