I graduated 2 years ago but applied through GRB as I had been living abroad since then. I was also dealing with some other recruitment agencies at the same time and couldn't have been more impressed by GRB, they were easily the best. They actually listened to what I was looking for rather than trying to make me fit into roles they already had available, and they were on hand at every stage of the process. After a review of my CV, with recommended improvements, I attended interviews for a few interesting IT positions GRB found for me. Eventually I found a role that should suit me well. GRB regularly sent me job adverts for relevant positions. They also gave plenty of good advice. I would highly recommend them to a new graduate and also to mature graduates after completing a Masters for example.

I have initially signed up for the Graduate Recruitment Bureau (GRB) in search for graduate opportunities in finance and IT. A few weeks down the line I have received a personal e-mail detailing the offer that suited very well. After initially sending a CV to the recruiter, I was delighted to be contacted back with a very concrete advice and a template, which detailed how to make my CV really stand out. It contained both formatting advice as well as tailoring one. I had my CV previously checked by both university and business professionals, but the advice from the GRB fine-tuned it even further, to the point where I made changes to my general CV template. Further to tailoring my CV and letting me know very quickly about the employer's decision to advance me to the next stage, GRB agent provided me with the most detailed interview preparation that I have ever received. Thanks to that preparation, I was able to answer every question the interviewer asked me with ease and confidence. The GRB agent was always in touch, letting me know swiftly of any developments with my application. I would recommend GRB as a very good place for graduates looking for a job agency.

I called GRB in April to try to find work. After an initial round of questions (the answers to which seemed to be almost wilfully misunderstood) and a request for my CV, I heard absolutely nothing until June when I called about a listed vacacy. After a struggle to find my details which suggests I never actually made it onto the system, I was able to ask about the vacancy. This vacancy was posted 3 days earlier and the requirements could have been written for me, down to degree level and amount of work experience. I was told that the vacancy had been filled some weeks earlier. The fact that the job was listed after that is apparently because the company are always looking for good candidates. OK, so it's not an actual vacancy but the company entertain good candidates. That's great; I match the requirements perfectly. Except that I'm now told that the requirements are actually significantly higher and so I won't be put forward. GRB's representative seemed to honestly not understand why I feel my time was wasted. Here we have a vacancy posted for a job that was already filled, with stated requirements that do not reflect what is required in any realistic sense. How is this acceptable? GRB have done absolutely nothing for me.

I was totally amazed at the way in which GRB (as they are often know) treats those seeking their first graduate job after university. They take an incredibly proactive approach to recruitment meaning they would come to you with one or two new rolls they'd like to put you forward for each week. It gives you a great confidence that they really want to get you a role and they never leave you in the lurch like some others I could name. They follow up quickly all the time, after each stage. They let you know the employer is reviewing the CVs, they talk to you right after interviews usually within a few hours to judge how you feel it went and it all adds to the "there for you" feel of the GRB. I can now say that they got my a job in a career I wanted, doing something I love, and its almost certainly due to the way they actually take time to talk to you and listen to what you want from life so they match you consistently with jobs that you'd really like.

My experience with GRB was great. My consultant was supportive all the way through my interview process and offered lots of tips and advice which was really personal and appropriate for the role. I would definitely recommend using GRB as after looking for a job for 6 months I got the first role they put me forward for. I worked at GRB for three months but have only positive things to say about the company. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and put a lot of effort into their jobs to provide for graduates and students. I was trained well and feel my personal and professional development have exceeded beyond my expectations. I have learnt a lot about the industry and the demands that come with it. If ever I felt I needed help, it was easy to ask. The office is sociable and supportive - it simply a lovely place to work. There are certain incentives such as flexible working time to fit around my studies and bonuses rewarded for publicity generated by my work.
