I Always Wondered When They Would Get Shut Down
I went to Malawi with lattitude global in 2013, and it was nothing short of negligent and traumatic. I have always wondered when I’d find other reviews like these, does anyone have any other sites or links for survivors?

No Support
I would not recommend Lattitude. I was in rural Africa, and was provided no support. There were so many issues, but some included being sent of to our rural village and not showed where to buy food (we had no access to food for the first three days and had to eat fruit we could scavenge from local trees); our in country support would not return our calls throughout the whole trip (we had to contact our home country before we could ever get on to anyone); and they did not organise our visas so we couldn't leave the country on time; they also provided no support for cultural adjustments and exposure to extreme poverty. Their approach to development is unethical and I would not endorse their version of volun-tourism. Their whole approach was negligent.
Omg!! I have wondered when these stories would start coming out. I was in Malawi, Africa and our time was nothing short of traumatic. I begged my parents to take me out.

My Fiji Experience
Absolutely horrible experience. The company was atrocious at dealing with any sort of negative situation or emergency. I was there when a cyclone hit Fiji and the way they dealt with it was so poor and negligent. I would never recommend this program to anyone. Also, a few of the people I dealt with in the program were very fake and it seemed to me that the only thing they cared about was the money and not the wellbeing of the young adults they were taking care of. Because of this program I have suffered in the long run from being treated so poorly. I was not the only one either who had a bad experience during my time there. A few other participants I also talked with during my time in Fiji also spoke of how poorly it was run, how bad they dealt with the cyclone and how fake, unapproachable and unhelpful some of the people who worked in the company were. Do not go on this program it was an absolute waste of money and has affected me more negatively in the long run.
The only good part was the Fijian people - they were so lovely and honestly the most beautiful people ever. But even considering this I would not consider this program worth the money, the time or the negative effects it has had on me personally.

Once In A Lifetime Opportunity
I had a placement in Australia for six months. It was an regrettable experience that you only tend to experience once in a lifetime. I made a lot of friends who I will be going back to visit in the future or will be visiting me. The only drawback is when you become inseparable with someone who lives on the other side of the world, you inevitably have to leave at some point. Lattitude were highly organised before and after departure. I would definitely recommend the experience of Lattitude to a friend or family acquaintance.
A Life Time Experience
I was placed in cape coast, where I had the most wonderful life time experience. During this period,we helped children with reading and writing,I was able to understand the role of young people in development, how to address development issues and some personal skills which has helped my new confidence define me better. It was an incredible experience that wouldn't have been possible without Lattitude. The placement, completely exposed me to my culture and that of others and to make great friendships. It can be challenging but, with support and advice,I always felt safe. I would really recommend Lattitude because,it was great for the first time I left my home and even after the placement,I will always have a home in cape coast. With Lattitude, they define you better and I loved it all.

Experiencing Once In A Lifetime With Lattitude
As I always say, life is not just B-D(birth-death) but rather there comes a C before the D. I call it the 3C (choice, chance, change) that is in life before D(death), in life you need to make a choice and create a chance and make a change in your and others around you life. this all happen when i had the chance to volunteer with lattitude global volunteering. i had the best of time working with the team. security was good, i follow their dos and don't which make me had a nice experience with them.i will recommend them for u if will like to find a place for a gap year to volunteer. thanks for reading this. ..

Nice Experience In Cape Coast
Mr. I know all is what my friends used to called me until i returned from my placement. Before volunteering, i felt there was nothing to learn from others if you are determined and focused on your goals with in-depth research work on your own. It was much later in the second month of my Volunteering that i realised i knew nothing in this world, the knowledge i gained from my new family on placement was twice of what i learned all my life, it was like i was now been introduced to the world. Personally i will say, i enjoyed every minute of my placement, my host home was not easy to adopt for the first few days but i later came to love that home like my birth home. The people on placement were lovely including the partner organisation in Cape Coast. I improved upon my English language skills, public speaking skills, working with kids, learned to live far away from home for the first time and i will say " it will be an illusion cherished if i say Lattitude didn't help make me who i am today"...

A Wealthy Experience
What you get by achieving your goal is not important as what you become in trying to achieve your goal. I owe Lattitude Global Volunteering, big time for the man I see whenever I look into the mirror. Before my placement, my utmost goal was to “find myself”. With a well structured program instituted by Lattitude Global Volunteering, Ghana, I was able to achieve my set goal just half-way through the program’s time frame.
My placement was Abrobiano, a local community in the central region of Ghana. The placement was endowed with a serene atmosphere, hospitable citizenry and its cross-cultural environment. A sense of team-spirit, all geared towards the upliftment of one another as well as the motivation and inspiration from the country manager and coordinators ceases not to amaze me. Though the road was rocky, it sure felt good to me. Volunteering experience is an experience every young person in the world should have. So whenever it crosses your mind to volunteer, don’t hesitate to look out for “Lattitude Global Volunteering”. One thing to note is “forget about certainty”.

My Gap Year
I had an incredible volunteering at my placement. I was placed in the UK, and I had a wonderful time. The staff at Lattitude, and at my placement were fantastic. They were warm, kind, welcoming, and fun. I have travelled to many different countries in Europe, and I would not have had that great of an opportunity to travel to more countries if I didn't have that base in the UK. I definitely recommend Lattitude to anyone who is interested in volunteer work, and travel.
My Work Experience (experience) At Lattitude.
It was a pleasure doing my work experience with Lattitude Global Volunteering.
My work experience placement was in the Reading offices and I can honestly say that the staff there are some of the nicest people I've ever worked with. It's not the biggest office in the world- quite small actually-, but I think that this is the reason why the Lattitude crew are such a tight-knit group of people, and you really get to know everyone. I even got to do a presentation infront of everyone, including the CEO. Where else will you be able to do that in a 1 week placement?
The tasks they have you do are actually meaningful- none of the "go buy me this morning's paper!" or "wash the dishes!" business. They had me helping with the design of their new website and publishing things (like a quiz) on their social media etc.
Lastly, Lattitude is a charity. Their intention is to help people around the world. Spending time with them will open your eyes to some of the cool things people are doing around the world. It will also really encourage you to go out there and start making a difference. This is why I would definitely say that you should do your work experience here!
Peace :D
Q&A
I want to volunteer in Japan as a medical assistant and I was wondering if they accepted every application or do they only accept a few out of so many applications? Also what kind of questions they ask you in the interview and do you have any say in where you would like to go in Japan?
Hi
Thanks for asking about Lattitude's placements in Japan. Our Japanese medical placements are one of our most popular and because of this we're fully booked for 2015. However, we do have spaces available for our March 2016 departure. Our selection days are not intended to be an intimidating experience. There will be a one-to-one interview where you will be asked and have the opportunity to ask the interviewer a series of questions about your motives for volunteering and what you hope to gain from the experience. There are sessions with other potential volunteers talk give you an insight into how well we think you will cope with certain scenarios and also on fundraising. The selection day is very much about making sure Lattitude matches up the right placement with the right volunteer, so it's important that you use the interview well ask it's a key way for us to know exactly what your're hoping to gain to place you in the most appropriate placement. We'd be really happy to chat through your requirements in more detail, please don't hesitate to call us.
