Aquarium LED Lighting

I grow in my cellar 8 x 6 m its a great environment as i get pitch black and great light. I use led grow lights to keep heat build up down and also less watering is needed. I use 12 supanova lights[/URL] with the uv added to help kill mites etc and they work really well. I will post pics soon.

Choose from the Brilliance Hi-Power range to K2 Hi-Power range with lighting colours or combinations ranging between blue for reefs, to moonlight to natural daylight and they have a LED light strip to suit. Fully immersible and capable of electronic control for providing a sequence of dim or partial only to full on timed light sequences. Magic.

At least it should be. The LED emitters should be more than capable of providing stunning lighting effects and keep you and your aquarium contants very happy. Thats where the theory ends.

In just under two years I have had four replacement tubes, each failed due to manufacturer deficiencies. Yes they were replaced but company policy is that you have send back your tube before it is replaced. Swift return promised can turn out to be anything from one to three weeks and they are not proactive. They do a very comforting EMail babble but unfortunately fail to back up the words, do not follow up and you are left in the lurch with your fish and plants dying while you wait. In fairness the last tube did last almost ten months compared to dead within weeks of the previous three.

LED lighting is exciting and has so much to offer in highlights but also main tank lighting. If you treasure your fish or your plants just keep well clear of Aquarium LED Lighting, not worth the risk.
