“Bad customer service - Roof box damaged”

We were travelling from Newcastle to Amsterdam with DFDS Airways, May 2013 in a 4x4 car with roofbox. As the ferry approached Holland, we made our way down to the car. The staff had left a note on the windscreen stating that due to the height of the vehicle, we should wait for for further instruction. We did. That was until an angry Eastern European staff member aggressively shouted at us to move the vehicle. Concerned due to the letter, we waved it at him and told him we shouldn't be moving on their advice. He got more irate. We started driving slowly. He egged us on to move faster. We stopped, showed him the letter but he didn't want to know. Our roof box got caught and was sliced open. Now DFDS UK won't settle up on a replacement and say we need to claim on our insurance. Unacceptable and totally frustrating as their paperwork admits their liability. You have been warned.
