Bought Jetta 2.0 TDI DSG sport after Xmas 2010 was just 3 years old and got the extended warranty. In Jan within 2 weeks of car broke down for a faulty flap on exhaust mainfold. Took to dealers and repaired eventually 3 weeks later. In Sept 2011 started jerking between 2-3 and from 3-2 took to dealers and told needed new Mechatronics unit. ***ALSO TOLD COMMON FAULT FOR MECHATRONICS TO BREAK AND YOU JUST GET LUCKY IF IN WARRANTY OR NOT*** VW Dealer had car over 3 weeks and told yesterday mechatronics unit replaced but still not fixed problem so new gear box and fly wheel needed. This is ok from me as under warranty but if not over £5K to repair for a 3 year old car. I have no idea when mine is coming back and would safely say NEVER BUY THE DSG BOX IT IS UNRELIABLE AND EXPENSIVE. The worst is VW know it is unreliable and must be making a fortune in repairs. If you are looking for one get the warranty or leave well alone.
