I've just replaced my ageing Ford Mondeo with a 1999 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 SRi and I couldn't be happier with it. I've owned it for just short of a month and I really can't fault it. It starts first time, has lots of power for over-taking and it looks the business with it's 5 spoke alloys and spoiler. At heart I know it's a family car, and it would fulfill that role perfectly as it has a large boot, 3 seats in the back and all the other luxuries you would expect, like cup holders and armrests etc. However, I don't have a family and I still love it. It has lots of useful features that my Mondeo didn't - like the ability to change the pitch of the headlights and the little computer built into the dashboard that tells you if something needs checking. This computer also gives temperature readings, fuel consumption, and the range of your vehicle based on the amount of fuel you have left - something which I find invaluable. Fuel consumption around town isn't great and that's to be expected of a 2 Ltr engine, but get it on a motorway and it will go for massive distances without the need to be refuelled. For example, I travelled from Portsmouth to Leeds and used just over half a tank of petrol.
I really don't have anything bad to say about this car - I love the way it looks, it has some great features and is a lovely smooth ride. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a high performance yet cheap motor.
