Good Color, Wears Off Fast
I bought the spray color with the Mitt and gloves. I appreciate having a mitt to reuse and finally have clean hands after application. This also allows me to rub in the color in awkward areas, such as around my ankles and outer foot soles, where the color usually pools. Anyway, the color itself is pretty good. I don't look orange. Yay! Unfortunately the color wears off withing a few days. Other self tanners seem to last at least a week if not more, but this I have to reapply fairly often. I find this to be tedious and time consuming. I also noticed that the color wiped off on my face even after I thought that it dried.

Spot Me
The Fake Bake Lotion.....is terrible!...It leaves you blotchie no matter how much you rub in circler motion. And I exfoliate very well before hand...in fact several days before applying. Now on the other hand the spray is fantastic! I rave to all my friends, they think I have been to a tanning bed. Now I have to wait for the spray to come in the mail. I might try the lotion after I have used the spray and am on the way to a great tan. As for the lotion alone, I will NOT recommend it to any of my friends. Sorry.

The Best Self Tanner I Have Ever Used. Great For Vitiligo!
I have vitiligo and have used just about every self tanner available over the years. Fake bake goes on without streaks and blends in perfect with fair skin. For vitiligo use it and then use a q tip to frenkle any pigment color differences . You will be amazed how it blends. Sometimes i forget i have vitiligo. No orange finally.

This Is By Far The Best Self Tan Lotion I Have Use
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST SELF TAN LOTION I HAVE USED. I HAVE TRIED NEUTROGENA AND LOREAL. IT ALWAYS TAKES A FEW CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF APPLICATION TO ACHEIVE A LIGHT TAN. I COULD NEVER GET A MDEIUM TAN FROM IT AND THE COLOR LOOKED ARTIFICLE. ONE APPLICATION OF FAKE BAKE AND I HAD A NICE COLORED TAN IMMEDIATELY.IT WAS EASY TO APPLY AND DID NOT DARKEN MORE IN COLOR OVER MY KNEES.I HAVE ONLY USED THIS PRODUCT ON MY LEGS.
THIS STUFF IS REALLY GOOD. FOR BEST RESULTS DON'T SHOWER FOR 24 HOURS OTHERWISE SOME OF IT WILL WASH OFF.

Still Prefer The Sunbed!
Like many of us, I used to be an obsessive Sunbed user (especially during summer), but for a few years now I’ve started to notice the effects on my skin – And not wanting to look like an old leather couch when I got older I started to look for an alternative.
After reading about FakeBake in my doctors waiting room (before getting yet another lecture about the hazards of Sunbeds) I thought I’d give it a go.
I exfoliated for 2 days as per the instructions and decided I'd sleep in it. When it went on it was very dark, but I rubbed and rubbed and soon the colour wasn't that bad. I did, however, really struggle sleeping while feeling all sticky and the smell was absolutely awful. Still; “No pain no gain”, so I struggled to sleep in the knowledge I’d look great by morning.
Unfortunately as morning came and I hopped in the shower I could see my tan running off down the plug hole! Ahhh. That’s not suppose to happen!
The following night I tried again (The Sunbed would never take this long!). In the morning I was more tanned, but I’d had another shocking nights’ sleep.
All in all not a successful a process - That said, after all the faffing, I did like the effect and I think my doctor will too ;-)

Fake Tan Novice!
Like many people, I was an avid Sunbed user (although only through summer) for about 15 years, and as I was beginning to notice the effects on my skin, felt it time I tried another alternative. After browsing the web, I found the good reviews for Fake Bake, and so thought I'd give it a go.
Anyway, received quickly, I exfoliated for two days in a row and after reading the instructions, decided I'd put it on at night and sleep in it.
It went on dark, but I rubbed it in well with circular motions and so the colour wasn't too bad. However, I really struggled with getting into bed feeling all sticky and gloopy! and the smell is quite bad! I totally agree that there isn't a self tan that doesn't smell, but was a bit surprised as alot of the reviews I had read, stated it didn't. Even after washing it off I can still smell it on my skin. Anyway, as a result I actually didn't sleep very well, but hoped it'd be worth it. Got up and washed it off in the morning, and it almost all went down the plug hole, needless to say I was rather disappointed! As it was sunday and I wasn't going anywhere, I re-applied it and wore old clothes all day.
Again, come the evening I washed it off, only to see most of it go down the plug hole. I do have a slight color, but not as noticable as I would have liked. I have come to the conclusion that I am not applying anough. Most people say they look like a mud monster, but I didn't, I just had a nice dark color (infact I quite liked it lol) Maybe thats where I am going wrong? I also struggled a bit with hands and feet, applying it so it looked realistic. Also it clings to any dry patches you may have quite badly. I didn't buy the Fake bake oil or cream as I didn't want to waste money before trying the tan incase I really couldn't get on with it, but I think I might have to.
I put it on my face also, and didn't like it all. It showed up every pore and flaw! so have bought the face one and am going to try that instead when it arrives.
So, what is my conclusion after my first use? its ok, but I think applying fake tan takes practice. I like the fact that there are no streaks, I may not have much of a colour but it certainly is even, which is great, especially for a beginner. Not orange either which again is great. I haven't really tried any other fake tans so can't compare, but as my expectations of fake tans go, I am relatively happy with it and intend to persevere a few more times. Experimenting with amount and application etc not sure how I'll combat sleeping in it as I really didn't like that, but again, maybe I just need to get used to it, or maybe I can find another way that works for me. Its got to be worth it to save any more damage to my skin, right? (is hoping I don't crumble and just go back to the tanning salon lol)
I'd be really grateful if anyone has any tips or tricks to help me? my email address is [email protected].
Buy it and give it a go!
Hey Hun Thanks for your kind words.....glad my review helped :)
You tell her :) i thought your review was pretty helpful as ill be using it for the first time in very fair skinned so the fact that you stated it was quite a light colour because you didn't use enough helps me alot as i don't want to be really dark so cheers Hun and keep on reviewing :)
I gave it 4 stars because its worthy of 4 stars, obviously!!! I didn't say I got nothing, I said I had a slight colour but purely because I didn't put enough on, therefore my fault and NOT the fault of the product!!!
Its worthy of 4 stars, it will just take practice on my part, if you don't like my review, go read another..........
Why did you give it four stars?????? That sounds like a huge pain in the a@@!!! two days of your life a messy sleep... and nothing!!! i am on here looking for reviews....

Easy Enough To Spray On, However There Is No Menti
easy enough to spray on, however there is no mention on the can that you have to wash it off the next day! went a bit patchy and dark as I sprayed it so started to panic! left it to dry and waited. Then an hour or so later noticed that I was starting to smell like my pet rabbit....made me paranoid that night....not nice smelling like a pet shop! Anyway I thought I've got to give it a chance, and after about 4 hrs the smell died down...phew!!
Woke up next morning and jumped in shower....quite a lot came off! dried off and went to inspect in the daylight. Results were surprisingly good! no streaks as expected and realistic colour....job done!
would use fake bake again and its cheaper than St tropez which I normally use...putting the money saved towards a hol so I can show off my new tan!

Fake Bake-very Good Product. I Myself Am Very Fair
Fake Bake-Very good product. I myself am very fair skinned so going to the tanner or laying out on the beach does nothing but turn me from white to red to white. That surely isnt good for anyone's skin. The first night I put it on I didnt rub it in nearly enough so it was a waste of time. The second night I put it on I rubbed it in alot better so there was color in the morning but i went to light on how much i used. Last night I used a good amount and rubbed it in the small circles turning into bigger circles and this morning i am about 7 shades darker. Obviousely from the other reviews exfoliate and moisturize 2-3 times before you put it on and repeate this for a few nights in a row or every other night depending on how dark you want to be.

I Love To Be Tanned, Dark Tan. I Was Honestly Not
I love to be tanned, dark tan. I was honestly not impressed with fake bake origional lotion at all.
Firstly, the application was difficult, it streaked around alot making it difficult and also the colour guide when applied made you look far to dark so most people don't put enough of the stuff on, it's really scary.
Secondly, the colour was rubbish, wasn't orange, but I didn't notice any difference in my colour whatsoever. It just went a yellowy- mustard tint. On my face it just looked mucky yellow with almost no colour, leaving my skin dry and patchy in the morning. The smell was also not very strong, but horrible, it smelled like a cross between curry and mustard ( to match the colour I suppose)
It lasts about 2 days then starts flaking ( and to add I did exfoliate before with st Ives apricot scrub.)
this deffinitely isn't as good as the hype and I will not recomend it to anybody.
