The Legacy GT is the most practical car I have ever owned and i have had a few from the MG ZS, Mazda 6 and the volvo s40, the interior is amazing bearing in mind that the car is 16 years old leather interior, heated seats, electric seats, climate control and air conditioning, heated mirrors, electric folding mirrors, twin electric sunroof, you name it, this car pretty much has it.
To top it all off it is a real street sleeper, I have beaten the famous impreza sti, porsche and all sorts in this car, the performance is faultless, the car was imported into the UK in 2007 and I am the second UK owner, the previous owner had a conversion done to replace the automatic gearbox with a manual STI gearbox, all the parts in the engine are pretty much the same as used in the Impreza.
Fuel economy considering how much power this car has is reasonable, driving sensibly around town I am getting about 27 Mpg, on a motorway run about 35Mpg, and playing around putting the foot down, Not too sure but its not pretty so be warned.

This is my 4th Subaru, the previous one being a 95 WRX which was written off when I was T-boned by a lunatic who went through a stop sign. This Legacy is a Jap spec model imported to NZ in 1999 to replace the WRX.
The 2.0 twin turbo GT wagon has so much power, even in standard 180bhp trim - the GTB version has the stiffer Bilstein suspension, 17" alloys and 280 bhp. A lovely car to drive be it going up to the ski fields or on a long cruise through the wide open spaces of NZ's South Island.
Very reliable with minimal work done in time I've had it. - only cam belts (a must at 80,000k), cam cover gasket, the odd oil seal leak - what you would get with a 10 year old car. Fuel consumption with Subaru's is not as good as other 4 cylinders (22 - 28 mpg) - must be my heavy foot.
Looking for a "Q-Car" ?? - this could be it.
