Followed the instructions to recycle my laptop on the website. Seemed pretty straight forward to complete the fields - it asked for what the operating system was, to which I selected Windows 8 (as that is what is was). Was quotes £60 for the recycle online to placed the order. Once sent off, laptop lobster re-evaluated my laptop as £35 cheaper giving it a value of only £25. The primary reason given was that they stated that the base operating system was Windows Vista, and even though it is now currently running Windows 8, this doesn't not matter, as it is the base operating system that they value it on. I said that the website was misleading, because now where does it state that the 'base' operating system needs to be entered - it says 'operating system'. The guy I spoke to apologised, but just said that he would pass the message on. I requested a call back from the manager, as he wasn't available to speak to at the time, and was promised a call back. I did not receive one. I then emailed to ask for my laptop to be returned using their free returns service, and mysteriously 15 minutes later I receive an email saying the laptop lobster have process my payment of £25, and thank you for doing business with us. Not impressed with the service at all, and disgusted that they mislead customers by reducing the offered price after using their website to value it. If it had serious things wrong with it, fine, but asking for what the operating system is and then changing the criteria after you have sent the laptop is disgusting.
