Last year we switched providers after a cold call (which I normally hang up on!) from opus. It happened we were unhappy with our current provider at the time because we were paying way over the odds and they were not budging on price. So we decided to change as the quote from opus was cheaper and getting a smart meter installed was important to us.
During the switchover, there was a bit of an issue with the billing but overall I have been happier than I was with my previous supplier and as a bit of a tree-hugger I'm pleased some of the energy we use is renewable.
