Since switching from EDF in August I have been asking for return of my £175 credit balance.
All I get are emails saying the complaint is being dealt with , and the latest email blaming the new energy company.
I have spoken to them on several occasions , each time gives a further excuse for non payment.
I was led to expect refund after my final bill but NO luck.
I am now considering the Energy Ombudsman or County Court to get my money back.

How unfortunate for you but, totally unsurprising, as all of the time it is their account it is making additional profit for them. Now if the boot was on the other foot and you owed them money, their collection agency would already be on your case. With regard to the ombudsman unfortunately they are about as useful as a Chocolate fireguard and rumour has it support only the bigger users not residential. You would be better off going through your local CAB Office who now 'I believe' deal with smaller cases....Good luck!!
