Wjec Won't Survive English Issue 2014
22500 pupils were effected by new methods of marking employed by the WJEC. The WJEC claim the low marks are due to new tougher requirements on accuracy in the new exam and a much higher number of students sitting the exams. It would seem now that no changes will be made to English grades and that WJEC consider that their examiners marked question papers correctly and accurately. It seems unfair that this year group will be massively disadvantaged over the rest of the UK, if radical changes are to be made, it should be done in a fair and consistent manner - as it is I can see this damaging the WJEC's reputation long term. Lets hope some common sense prevails.

WJEC are one of the smaller exam boards in the UK, their customer service is good and their website is informative.
Unlike some other exam boards, WJEC have a book shop which helps learners to gain access to resources needed to study for WJEC exams.
I am pleased WJEC have decided to stay part of the UK exam system as this helps give choice over which exam board to choose.
WJEC seem to have time to talk to people on the telephone and they give helpful advice when you need this.
The only downside to WJEC is that I wish they offered more GCSE / GCE subjects.
