There is a new mostly-instrumental album in your hands from popular pianist and synthesist TIMOTHY WENZEL, and the music also features violinist Josie Quick on almost all of the tunes. The recording is titled DISTANT HORSEMAN and the cover illustration depicts a human form sitting on a horse on a far-away alien planet, which is appropriate because Wenzel, a former research scientist, uses his music to explore grand themes about life in our universe. You can think these thoughts as you sit back and listen, or you can simply enjoy the melodies, but either way this music is worth hearing. These are lovely tracks that have the piano and violin most prominent, but dibs and dabs of other presumably synthesized orchestration from oboe and cello to flute and drums. Wonderfully executed.
