*** Do Not Use!!!! *** Myself and my partner are doing a total renovation of our house. The windows and front door being a crucial part. After a number of quotes we went with Carrington. This decision was made on the basis of numerous promises made by the VERY hard and pushy sales man. One of these being the short turn around they claimed to be able to offer. In a nutshell 13 weeks later we have no windows. The company are a bunch of liars from the receptionists to sales men. They were full of promises they couldn’t fulfil. They sold us a product they couldn’t even source for the price they quoted!! They do not respond to phone calls. The salesmen was dreadful - very nice initially but then when he didn’t get his sale on the first meeting he turned rather aggressive and bolshy leaving myself feeling very uncomfortable in my own home. Since our experience we have discovered this is the way the company operate - with many unhappy customers (probaly all!) Absolutely diabolical company - do not use!!!

“guarantee invalid”

all doors fitted by carringtons to my property faded in colour before the guarantee expired.when contacted carringtons they informed me that they are not the same company although they are still trading under the name Carrington at the same address and phone number. they then informed me that the 10 year guarantee I received is no longer valid by them. so any future customer beware as in my case I wish I had never dealt with carringtons double glazing

DO NOT USE THEM. HAD LOADS OF PROBLEMS WITH OUR FRONT DOOR. MADE AT LEAST 30 PHONE CALLS TO THEM. THEY NEVER RING BACK. ALWAYS SPEAK TO SOMEONE DIFFERENT (THAT'S IF I CAN EVEN GET THROUGH) 10 YEAR GUARANTEE - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND CERTAINLY DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY APPARENTLY THEY CAN'T KEEP THE STAFF AND I WONDER WHY ..... NEVER EVER USE THEM

WE NEED WAIT 3 WEEKS LONGER FOR THE DOOR WE ORDERED THEN AFTER THAT ANOTHER 2 WEEKS AS ONE OF THEM WAS IN WRONG DESIGN AS NWE PAID FOR.EVENTUALLY THE ALL HANDLES FOR ALL DOORS AE WRONG DESIGN AND COLOUR.NO RESPONSE TO OUR EMAILS.TODAY WE RANG CREDIT CARD TO OPEN DISPIUTE AND SUSPEND THE PAYMENT.NEVER NEVER AGAIN PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUNCH OF IDIOTS.

“Not professional, pressure selling style”

Was at garden centre & asked if I wanted a quote. Agreed since I am looking for a new front door. Insisted both wife & I should be present (alarm bells?). Man turns up & has the classic sample bag which again, rings alarm bells. I made it clear that I will not accept hard sell, calls to managers etc and was clear that I was after a quote only at this stage. He became increasingly hostile, berating a competitor or who I said was quoting. He was quite rude saying I was only going for the cheapest, poor quality whereas I was clear that I wanted value for money. I wrapped up saying his price was not outside being picked but then he wanted to do the 'call my manager' thing even though I have made it clear I abhor that tactic and simply wanted his best quoted price. Then he asked if I was prepared to do paperwork and pay a deposit today!!! Classic hard sell approach. He then got miffed and left saying he would not quote and Carrington did not want my business.

Initial dealing where positive, however, this changed when we signed the contract and paid the deposit. The original quote for a new Ultr-frame Livin-roof of £20K was too high so we respectfully refused and sought another contractor. Ten days later we received a call from P who offered the work for £12K so i attened the show room and met with L where i negotiated £11K. The contract was signed and deposit paid. Two weeks later we had the first of two cancellations, having taken two half days from work costing me money (self employed). Two weeks after that (four weeks after signing) i received a call from P saying that i need to pay an additional £2.5K or the work would be cancelled. During the four weeks i had purchased contents items ready for the August installation. I had also put off three contractors who were able to install the roof in August. I spoke with the owner director, who was arrogant, rude and full of himself. He offered no apology and made me feel as though it was my fault. He demanded more money four weeks after signing the contract. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We recently had 8 windows a composite front door and a rear bi-fold door fitted by Carrington Windows and we could not be more delighted with the quality, cost and service we received. We Dealt with one man from the very beginning and the installation was done by another. We were kept informed at every stage and found that Carrington Windows did what they said they would do when it was planned. The installation went through without a hitch, all clean and tidy after and we have other works planned for the Team at Carrington Windows. 5 Star Service

“WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER”

Before I booked a quote I looked on here at some of the reviews and to be honest I tihiught that whilst there were some bad ones I would go ahead nonetheless and set up a visit. The first hurdle being that both me and my husband needed to be present so we could make a joint decision there and then. I explained that No1 there is no way we would make a decision there and then as wanted to compare quotes and No2 my husbands job means he is home all strange hours so they refused to come out which I was fine with . I then had a phone call that same evening to say they had referred to a manager and it was ok to come and see just me. I explained again that I wanted a quote for comparison reasons and would NOT be making a decision there and there . So comes the day (today) that the sales guy turned up . He kindly asked me what I was looking for and talked to me about the different styles and benefits that Carrington offer. So far so good ..... Then when I asked him if I would get a verbal quote today he replied 'yes' followed by and I expect a decision today too. I explained again that I would not be making a decision to to which he quite abruptly replied 'I'm not going to get paid now' . At this point he became quite rude and I felt nervous so I asked him to leave . I immediately rang the head office and spoke to a senior person. He allowed me the opportunity to explain what had happened and profoundly apologised . Despite the experience I had had I still advised that I wanted a quotation from Carrington and he himself is coming to see me next week. I could have quite easily have given them a terrible rating but given the enthusiasm that went into the recovery on the phone, I am prepared to give them a 2nd chance and see where we go from here. Hence why at this point I have rated as Average but hope to turn that to good or fantastic.

“Carrington Appaulling Harrassment”

We had a couple of windows installed by Carrington Windows last year. It is the worst mistake we have ever made. We said that we did not want to replace anymore windows at that time but the company have continued to harass us incessantly ever since, despite the fact that we have told them on dozens of occasions not to contact us again. It makes no difference how many times we ask them to take us off their list for call backs, they just ring on another number or withhold the number. Every time it is the same shocking, idiot sales person technique, 'we will be in your area again ....' or 'I can't remember if we've done your other windows yet or not', or 'hello, we need to come round to measure up for your other windows'. If the windows blew out tonight and Carrington were the only replacement window company available we would make do with a sheet of plastic nailed across the gap rather than have them round. Don't think we could even recommend them to somebody that we didn't like.

Totally agree, the level of service my parents have had from them is terrible. They had them out once and the windows they fitted were unlevel and inaccurate. The guy who fitted them was very rude to my dad on the phone. When he came back to refit them...he nore his colleague said hello or spoke to my parents the whole time they were in my house, it made my parents feel very uncomfortable. They got my dad to look when they left and it looked ok. However....10 minutes later the sealant had all come loose from the window trim and it is all cracked and open. There is no support under the trim apart from one tiny bit. It is dangerous, unprofessional and the customer service was unacceptable. They were very rude. I rang up and complained. Never had service like i before. They need new staff!

Highly recommended from store to fitting, very pleased with my windows nice and cosy in my home now and saving on the heating bills now. Not the cheapest on the market but who wants cheap Windows. Friendly chaps, covered all surfaces to protect my wooden floors. Bottoms up keep up the good work chaps

contact for a quote.explained on phone all i wanted was a quote for now...no problem i was told will send somebody round. nice man in suit turned up. first question was would i be able to commit today..."no" was my reply because i thought the point of getting a quote was so you could compare with other companies. at that point the sales man said "no point in me carrying on or measuring up if not able to commit". well if thats how the bussiness operates not giving out quotes then im supprised they are still going.. even though the sales man wasnt pushy it still felt as though he was..(if that makes sense)... sorry carrington but thats a sale lost(possibly).unfortunatly you made the choice for me.... in the words of one of the dragons......... IM OUT

Asks if married and whether wife would be home...then says wont come because not married...what has our marriage status got to do with installing some windows! Meant to come for free quote, starts talking money on the phone...all I want is someone to come have a look and talk prices in person. I was keen to let them install them but they lost me!

“Glass conservatory roof”

Had a representative call to give quote for glass roof to be fitted to existing conservatory.surveyor came assured us fitting would be no problem even though there was a stand pipe that the glass roof would have to accommodate.three months later work is still not finished due to stand pipe.Carrington Windows don't know what they are doing!! The after service and care while carrying out the work is none exciting.haven't paid bill yet and will not until work is done and to our satisfaction. KEEP WELL AWAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

“appalling customer service”

STAY CLEAR: This company does not care once they have taken your money, your guarantee will mean nothing once they have gone into administration which is exactly what happened last year. I had a problem with 1 of my windows that was fitted approximately 20 months ago, I rang Carrington up late last November to report the problem and was told it was no longer under guarantee, I thought we got a 10 year guarantee. But apparently Carrington went into administration on the 20th October 2014, this had not been the first time either. Always do your research when looking for a company to fit double glazing: stay well and truly clear.

I am not sure why you have received such information regarding your guarantee being null and void! All guarantees within the ten year period are being honoured and we have many customers who are willing to confirm this.
Please call us with your invoice reference number and one of our team will be more than happy to send out an engineer to rectify your problem with the window. This will of course be free of charge as covered by your guarantee.

We arranged at a supermarket to get someone out for a quote. The day and time arranged arrived, confirmed the night before, only to get a call that night that the representative couldn't make it, arranged for them to come the following night. 20 minutes after the agreed time that they were due to arrive a guy from customer service arrived asking what we thought of the quote from the previous evening..... Said that nobody had turned up and was expecting a representative to come and give us a quote. Leaning against the door said he could give us a rough idea but would need someone to come and give us a proper quote...... Don't use this company as they can't be bothered to turn up and give a proper quote. Customer service, what customer service.

We have very recently had replacement windows and a new front door to the front of our property and we are absolutely delighted with the quality and the fit. Yes, they were not the cheapest, but they were certainly the best quality and as these new windows have now got to last we went for the better quality with the extensive guarantee/warranty. The salesman was not at all pushy he said it as it was, and indeed everything went according to plan. The fitters were polite and hardworking, they got on with their jobs without any hassle. They covered furniture which we couldn't move and hoovered up afterwards. All in all a job very well done with as little inconvenience as possible. We have had several comments about the appearance of our new front of house and it stands out on our cul de sac. Exceptional firm, thank you. Armshaw - Matlock area

“rubbish aftersales service”

we had some windows and a new front door fitted by this company. whilst the goods are as advertised, but the fitters were in such a rush to finish the job they dropped and damaged one of the upstairs window, from upstairs)and the front door had its knocker and spyhole missing. they came today 1/9/15 to sort the problem out and the spyhole is broken and the window is not the right one.
