“New Chappie Kibble , Absolutely Awful, Will not buy...”

Having been feeding my dog the Chappie Original Kibble for last few years on Veterinary Advice. I am now looking for a new brand of low allergen food .

The size and shape has changed, it has gone from dry to greasy, it has a gravy coating, it smells very meaty, it has gone from yellow/white to orange and 3 of my dogs won't eat it at all. My dogs started scratching continually within days of using it.

I phoned their CARELINE and to be told the only improvement was its shape was laughable. The said it was done to slow down the rate at which the dogs eat it. They said the change of colour , greasy feel, gravy coating, smell etc was down to obviously sourcing the ingredients from new sources.

Its about time their Customer Careline, looked at the visable difference, had a smell of it and took off their rose coloured glasses.

I will not recommend this product to anyone. Why did they have to change the kibble, it can only be for financial gain as larger kibble will encourage you to feed more as it will look less in their bowl and whoever the vets were that agreed this was IMPROVED are obviously on a commission for the impending fees they can charge for your dogs becoming ill through eating it.

Perhaps it is time they stopped trying to fob people off with a script written response and started telling the truth.

I also think the wet food has changed. our last rescue greyhound had chappie mixed with retired racing greyhound and thrived on it, when we got another due to !st one passing away we fed her the same diet. over the 9 months we have had no problem at all until last 3 weeks when she started to turn her nose up at her food. this for a dog who will eat like she hasn't been fed for months is very strange. got her some other dogfood just to try it out and she wolfed it down. Gave her some wet chappie. Wouldn't touch it!!! Bad move Manufacturers
