We bought this machine but put it unused in storage for some 5 years. Since we did finally install it about 8 months ago it has gone wrong twice. Of course, the machine is easily out of warranty, but it's amazing that such a premium brand should be so hideously unreliable.
Smeg Customer Services and outsourced Service Department haven't been remotely helpful, unless you count giving me the mobile number of for a Smeg trained, independent, engineer - who so far hasn't answered (and there's no voicemail).

When it does work, it seems fine apart from it not being possible to put larger dinner plates in as they are too tall for the spray bar.

*I wouldn't touch a Smeg anything again with a barge pole!*

The Smeg DWF614 dishwasher has a smart appearance, solid stainless steel of good quality, half load and doesn't get as dirty round door seal as previous dishwasher did. Good selection of programmes and delay timer VERY useful to save on electricity costs by using at night. Dries well and very quiet! Seems reliable. This is an expensive model but works efficiently. If you want stainless steel it is worth shopping around for. There have been no repairs required during the 3 years I have owned it.
