“PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING”

I too was caught out by this scam. After signing up to the allegedly 'free' trial, I received my samples seven days later. I had read the T & Cs but assumed the 14 days would start from delivery date as opposed to order date. Very big mistake. I realised what was going on when I noticed all these complaints and rang immediately to cancel my order. I had no trouble accessing the telephone number on the carton but it only cancels one of the products. When I tried to cancel the others I got a Recorded message saying my account was cancelled. I subsequently received another pack of body cleanse and saw that a total of £150 had been charged to my account. I did not receive the Slimtoneplus plus or the patches at all. This morning I called them from a different telephone number and managed to speak to a woman called FAYE RIDING. I explained I had been expecting the slimtoneplus and patches as I had been charged for them and asked if she could check my order. From her first word she was extremely hostile and aggressive. She said "I'm sick of saying this, don't any of you people read the terms and conditions". I told her I had read the conditions and repeated a number of times that I only wanted what I had paid for. She became very irate and I asked if I was speaking to customer services as her attitude was not helpful. She insisted she was the only person I could speak to so I asked for the contact details of their head office. I was told that this was in South America and the address was very long and she wasn't allowed to give it out. When I argued with her she said that she was "putting me on hold till I decided if I wanted to write down an address". I asked why I was being charged for a 'free trial' and she went off into one again. She consistently shouted over me and wouldnt allow me to talk despite several requests from me. When I asked her where her office is based she refused to tell me. She was so hostile that I suggested she needs a change of job and to seek some support. Worse still I have now been charged another £37.50 for Body cleanse because I 'chose' not to cancel it. There was absolutely no telling her that it was impossible to cancel because of their automated system. Like so many others I took up this free trial after the report by Chanel 4 and in the media. Shame on you Chanel 4. You must have at least eventually known how this company grabs money from innocent people but have done nothing I can find to expose this scam. We don't have any protection from or credit card issuers or under the direct debit scheme - but that's really not a surprise is it. Time trading standards became involved. I am writing to them and would encourage all you
