“About every 10 seconds the picture on my Technika...”

written by Hugo. on 05/05/2002

About every 10 seconds the picture on my Technika DVD212 DVD player degenerates into a mish-mash of pixelated chaos making watching any movie impossible. I'm going to return mine and get a better model. It looks good but it's not worth the hassle. Avoid!!!!

“Got a Technika DVD212 DVD player today, after reading...”

Got a Technika DVD212 DVD player today, after reading the reviews on the Dansai (uses same internal workings) for £89 plus post. It looks good and does the lot......
DVD CD VCD MP3 CD-R CD-RW, it has a secret menu to disable Macrovision (to allow backing up of discs to tape) and to enable Multi-region.
DTS output.
For the money, I cannot see how to get a better player!

I have a technika dvd212 which I think is a excellent machine. We have used the hack to make it multi region and this has worked very well the only problem we have is that at the moment it is stuck on stand by can anyone help I was told to leave it unplugged for a while but this hasn't worked. Does anyone know what to do or should I take it in for repair?? I have heard that this could be an effect of using the hack code but I am not positive on this please help [email protected]

You don't need to play VCD format. In fact no fancy stuff at all. Leave the video file as mpeg and burn onto cd.So easy why can't they all do it?

Can anyone tell me how to enable VCD compatibility on the Technika DVD-212? Everywhere I read, it says that it plays VCD but it DOES NOT! If everyone reckons that it's capable, why don't they post the information for other users? Do the VCD's have to be recorded on ReWritable CD's by any chance as I know some DVD players won't read VCD's on normal CD-R discs. PLEASE HELP!!

So far three people have bought them and reviewed them here on this site and all give 10/10 - read the reviews.
P.S. I got one and I am more than happy. I've had a Kiiro 838d, which was terrible. Dansai 1010 good. Daewoo 800dvg

Don't waste time, just buy one from www.webelectrics.co.uk they are a ``which`` approved, safe, secure site.

Does it do karaoke like the Deccavideo ddv 2110? The picture isn't very clear and it doesn't say on the blurb at Empire. The Deccavideo has two mic inputs with volume and reverb controls, but may have the same access method for the "secret" factory menu (similar firmware).

Yeah the picture shown above is not actually the Technika. I bought online from Empire Direct, they have a better picture.
The secret menu is found by pressing 'setup' (on remote) and then stop/backwards/forwards on the player.

“The Technika DVD212 DVD player is a super machine,...”

★★★★★

written by VinoJ. on 22/02/2002

The Technika DVD212 DVD player is a super machine, just recently out on the market i think. It is suspiciously similar to the Dansai from Tescos - to the point where the similar software hack works on it. Look at the Dansai reviews for similar info then...
