Cruzyk45's review of B&Q

“Chasewood Furniture nightmare”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Cruzyk45 on 14/05/2014

I ordered and paid full price of £2200 for some Chasewood fitted wardrobes back in July 2013. It took over 7 months for these to be fitted, despite me having to sign up to a contract stating that it would take 8 - 10 weeks in total from the time of placing the order.
I shopped around and Chasewood were not the cheapest but I opted for quality and service - how wrong was I!?
The service was disgraceful, I booked 2 days off work to stay at home for the fitter who failed to turn up on both days. This was after booking a day off for the initial design, another for the measurement and a third for the first fitting. After this I requested Saturday only appointments. Chasewood turned up twice after this with doors that were the wrong size so they had to go back to the factory and make them again. They were measured three times - the first two visits they got the measurements wrong. Chasewood admitted the service was not acceptable and agreed to pay compensation. I informed B&Q - who I believe still have my £2,200 payment. It's been a subsequent 2 months and neither B&Q, nor Chasewood can provide an update on the compensation adfter both agreed and admitted it would due to be paid. I have spent over 10 hours on the phone trying to resolve this and had to phone back repeatedly when both companies promised a call back - these rarely materialised. B&Q are now saying they are not at fault and can do nothing to help me, even though I paid them directly for teh product and sevice. When I informed B&Q that the compensation had been promised but was not being provided, they said there was nothing they could do. It's now 10 months later - all I can say is please reconsider before signing up to get fitted wardrobes from CHasewood or B&Q. The product is bog standard, you can get much better elsewhere for the same price or cheaper with much better features but the service is atrocious and absolutely below acceptable levels.

I am currently in exactly the same position. Paid in full (£3500) in January 2014 and the wardrobes are still only partially fitted (again problem with doors) - no call back or visit from Chasewood even when promised. B&Q customer services have been following this up and keeping me informed but do not appear to have any power over Chasewood even though B&Q have my money. We used Chasewood two years ago and that went very well with a good installation and on time - something has gone very wrong with the company in recent months - Avoid....

I ordered and paid for my fitted bedroom at the beginning of February 2014. It has been nothing but a nightmare since, with many late notice postponements and re-arrangements. I wouldn't recommend Chasewood - they are difficult to deal with and very uncaring about their Customers predicament when they cancel / postpone arrangements. Nothing has been fitted yet but they have my £5k.
Dreadful Customer Service causing me great anxiety and distress. Never again with Chasewood.
