I applied for a credit card 3weeks ago, still not to recieve my card. I had a strange feeling as I hadn't recieved any emails or anything from them. It being my first credit card I didnt quite know what the procedure was. I contacted them, gave them my details and they had my application on their screen. They told me that my application had errored (even though it had said I was approved for a credit card with a £300 credit limit to start with.) The gentleman said that it was an error on their side, and that he apologises. He said he would speak to the manager and get back to me in half an hour.

THREE HOURS passed, and no word from them yet. So I called them back, and spoke to a very disinterested woman. She was rude and unhelpful. She said she couldn't see my details as they have all been removed (i guess thats a good thing by the way things are going!!) and that SHE would go speak to the manager to see whats going on. She put me on hold for 7minutes, and told me that the manager is aware of my problem, that they've deleted all my information off their system for me to start afresh, and that a letter is on its way to me explaining what had happened..

I asked her if i should reapply this afternoon or wait 24hours or what was the procedure. she told me "No! you need to wait atleast 6months!" as if it was MY fault it had errored. It was THEIR system fault, and they shouldn't provide this service if it doesnt work.

I contacted another credit card company who approved me in 30 seconds, much lower APR and much more helpful.

I will NOT recommend this company to anyone, and will never deal with them again. I will turn to the Provident before i approach them again!
