“NO REBATE RECEIVED!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Gauthierxx143 on 22/06/2014

Did not receive a rebate as promised but was charged more than what they has quoted, so I had to call them again, still promised that me the rebate that they "wanted me to be able to have". Just a gimmick in my opinion! Told me that I did not need to have any other antivirus product, but now it expired without any notification prior to. Very dissatisfied and will find another antivirus product to use for all of the computers.

“Rebate never comes”

written by on 04/01/2014

I purchased a external hard drive last May. I called them again about the rebate and they said because of holidays 2 to 3 more weeks. Really you got to be kidding me. Will it ever come. I don't think so. If it does I'll post it. Their tech service is great but the rebate department sucks Pat

Do not expect the promised rebate to arrive because it won't. And the "help" is not worth ten cents. Waste of money and time.

“Worst support and most broken promises - stay away”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 14/09/2013

I was referred by Samsung to this outfit for Galaxy support. I thought from the indian accent that I was buying special software that should come with my phone. The next day I called back and got no further than with popular search engines. Could not understand sales guy because of accent and random muting of phone, same with support person, and same with over an hour trying to get charges reversed. They are so shady that they felt because their tech googled the same answer I had already found (which was why I called in the first place) they should be fully paid. Should be ashamed to have an 800 number. I am hoping this form will allow a rating of zero, because that is fitting. Over 25 years of experience, and this company was the worst ever dealt with.

“My Tech Help -- keeps on charging you ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mwalter on 03/09/2013

I don't want to hash it all out again, but basically, I reported My Tech Help as fraud to my credit card company in February. The disputed all the charges and relieved me of having to pay. Now it is August My Tech Help decided they needed to charge me again, out of the blue, although I have not had contact with them in six months. These people have greasy slimy balls and yes, they will pretend they're Apple. Are the customer service people nice? Of course they are....cha-ching...that is how scams work.

“They do not claim to be Apple - BUT they position...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/08/2013

They do not claim to be Apple - BUT they position themselves to look like Apple AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE without it being illegal. If you search "apple tech support" on google, they are on top of the list. Can you see why I thought they were apple? It is SO EASY to see right through them: they have a CLEAR INTENTION TO DECEIVE. They speak at the maximum speed possible without going above the legal limit and they hire people with accents so it's very hard to understand them. I had problems turning on my computer so I call my buddy up for the Apple tech support number. My buddy does the aforementioned google search query and gives me that number. I call the number and ask for simple ways to troubleshoot my computer. They tell me my computer can EXPLODE because the battery was malfunctioning. I was scared for so I agree to get my computer fixed for 200$. If they were Apple, they would have told me my warranty would have covered it! I then find out that they are NOT Apple and now I am going through the drudgery and tedium of getting a refund!!

“Questionable Business Practices All Around ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/08/2013

After I moved to Tampa, Florida and set up all of my Cable and Internet with a large company (one of the MyTechHelp aliases) sent me a router and essentially enrolled me in a tech support program that they represented to be associated with the company that I had set all of my services up with. I immediately sent the router back, but MyTechHelp continued to bill me $9.99/month for "services." I called the company multiple times in order to be refunded, and the customer service representatives just give you the run around the whole time and connect you to at least a half a dozen different departments that can't help you. They constantly try and sell you on support services and claim that they are supporting a product that you own whether it be a laptop or TV. To be honest, this is the most ridiculous company I have ever dealt with. The customer service representatives refuse to help you until you are to the point of yelling at them. At no point did this company ever provide a service to me on any product that I own, yet they will represent to. At first they will offer to refund you one month of fees, but all you have to do is continue to push and yell at them. They will then offer to refund 3 months, then 6 months, then everything. My issue went on for almost a year until finally being resolved today after my 3rd call in 11 months to the company. Hopefully the refund I was promised will actually be processed and get back to me. MyTechHelp is essentially running a billing scheme and any business relationship with them needs to be avoided.

“DON'T USE THIS SHADY A** COMPANY EVER!!!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 05/08/2013

Okay first off i have a 2011 macbook air and the internet stopped working on it somehow, like i had the wifi connected but it wouldn't let me get on the internet so first i looked around the internet on my phone to see if i could fix it myself. I came across a firewall that i didnt even know i had and thank God i enabled it before i called mytechhelp so since i couldnt fix it i googled apple tech support phone number on my phone and that was the first thing to come up. I saw it said apple tech support so i thiught it was legit. I called and it seemed pretty authentic at first but f no it isnt. So i talked to a lady (and she seemed to be from india or something and i could hear a lot of people and stuff in the background) i told her my problem and the reason why i felt hope was because she got my internet working again. So i was like yay so she told me i had a virus on my mac (which is very dumb becauseacs RARELY get viruses and i didnt download anything) she said she could fix it permanently for a fee of $119 at first all i heard was $19 so i was thinking okay that isnt bad but i realized it was more. Me being dumb thinking this was legit i gave her my debit card number, serial number, and address ugh *facepalm* i blame myself honestly for falling for this sketchy sht my card was declined because i dont have that kind of money at the time and she was very aggressive about getting the money she even offered to call my bank so i told her to call me later and she offered some shady $100 gift card and it was online only and they took out $9.00 out my account so she called back eventually and talked to my dad cuz im only 17 and she was just BSing about the situation my dad said to not continue the service. He called the bank immediately to get that $9.00 reversed and im glad my card got declined so i wasnt out of any serious money and im glad i had my firewall up so they couldnt hack my lap top i just wasted a whole day dealing with this bullsht now im waiting for my mom to get home to see if they didnt damage my $1000 computer but i hope by just getting the serial number they cant do anything. This has taught me a valuable lesson do not effing deal with them their full of sht!!!!

“THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by esamatis on 24/07/2013

They pretend that they are apple support and then trick you into an "extended care" package of their horrible service, They roped me into buying virus protection that I did not need for a hardware problem in my computer! I spent two hours on the phone and at one point the technician helped another customer and told me I had to wait longer because he was busy. Absolutely ridiculous, on top of that they tried to get me to pay more money to have the computer sent in to their shady technicians. After I realized what was going on They only refunded me part of the money after they did absolutely nothing to fix my computer. Please do not give these people your business. After all was said and done I went to apple, even though my applecare was expired they fixed some wiring in my computer and it was back to new FREE OF CHARGE! They also removed all of the sketchy virus protection that was installed that probably is giving the access to your information. If you own a mac and ever have any problems bring it to them first. I also heard another employee at apple giving a customer advice on cheaper options outside of apple that were reputable but he said most things can be fixed there at the best price. I may have been a fool to fall for these people thinking they were apple but you don't have to! MY TECH HELP IS A JOKE!

“SNEAKY, MONEY DRIVEN COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/07/2013

I contacted Gateway due to having purchased a computer gateway laptop. Anyhow, I was in need for them to mail me all the software I had purchaced previously. Well, the customer rep ask me to hold while she transfered me to the software dept. Then next customer rep that I was transferred to was a "MYTECHHELP" agent. She asked me to explain my issue and I did. After, she assured me that she could fix the virus on my computer via the internet and that I didn't need to purchase the software again. I asked her specifically how she could do that and she explained to me that all she needed was my pc info and she would be able to tap into my computer with a signal along with me following her instructions. So, after about 8 minutes of her lies, I was sold. I said ok, great being that I was two day late in my classes. She told me the cost would be $119.00. I told her "well, ok". So, then she told me to hold on and that a recording would play while she was inputing my info. Well, the recording did play with strong music in the background. All that I remembered hearing clearly was that there would be a $19.00 recurring fee monthly. I was like what!! So, when she returned I asked her what it was about and she became angry. She was telling me that I would need those future services and then she told me that she was ready to fix my pc so let's begin, but first do you accept the terms. I then told her "know (the correct spelling is banned)". I don't need your service in the future, I only need you now to fix my issue. I then asked her what are the terms anyway. She then told me to just say yes and I told her "know (the correct spelling is banned)". ! What are the terms...then she stated...I just played the recording. I then told her to email me the terms and I will be able to read them and then accept them. So she said she would and begin to badger me into saying yes again. While, she was talking she very rude!! After the last time she asked me I became bold with her and told her that I didn't want the service becuase for one, I don't know what the terms are to accept and I'm not going to pay $19.00 dollars a month for something I don't need. She then told me that she would ask her supervisor to take the fee off. Again, she ask me to say yes, and I then asked her if she was 100% sure and she said yes she could fix my computer. To conclude stupid conversation, the tech rep that she put on the phone was supposed to fix my computer---that was her first lie!! She never attempted to fix my pc. Immediately, when I said yes she transferred me to someone else. The tech had no clue as to fix my pc...everything he told me to do...I had already done prior! So, I bluntly asked him if he could fix it and he said "know (the correct spelling is banned)"! I asked for a refund and was haggled about it..I was only refunded $69.00 of the $199.00 back. The manager explained to me that I had accepted the terms and conditions when I said "Yes" meaning that I was aware of the $50 non-refundable fee however, I never heard that part and it took them several days to return my refund. People, this company is awful, sneaky, and money driven. I don't think that any of the "so-called" techs know anymore than the average person about fixing viruses. All they want is your money!!! Please try a professional place like office depot or geek squad...I did and was satisfied!!!

“Awful doesn't come close describing this company's...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 13/07/2013

They consistently used an array of tired excuses or avoidance tactics whenever I called. Once I finally got to a technician, they were only able to provide the most minimal service. Everything I read in other negative reviews was true. I originally intended to write a detailed review of my experiences. It just isn't worth the time. Save yourself a lot of frustration and find another service provider.

They lied and said I was talking to apple not a third party. They wanted my money but wouldnt fix the problem. When I asked to speak with a supervisor they kept hanging up on me. I would call and nicely ask to speak with a supervisor they would hang up.

“$800 = NO F'ING SERVICE!?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by pissedconsumer on 08/06/2013

Let's start this off with the fact that they took a month to replace two parts in my computer. They told me they would transfer hard drive data to my new hard drive, they didn't do it, flat out. They replaced my video card...or did they? My computer is having the exact same video card crashes as before. I had to call constantly since they would NEVER contact me even when they literally promised a call. Unprofessional much? well if you think that was a joke, they managed to top it off. I sent in my computer in a box specifically for laptop shipping (I own a shipping company in the Pittsburgh area). They returned it in a giant used cardboard box about 15 times the size of my computer. Their idea of packaging was a haphazard ball of bubble wrap and tape that any idiot could smash together in their basement. My laptop came back with dysfunctional buttons on it. It took two hours for their 'top' technician to screw around and tell me they couldn't fix it (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!!!!!!). MyTechHelp is a mockery of professional service
