The logitech S220 2.1 system consists of 2 small black satellite speakers and a powered subwoofer (I use that term loosely!). Set up is easy, just plug in the mains and hook up to your DAB, MP3 player or the headphone jack of your i-pod etc. There is a handy bass control knob which has a large range of control, virtually turning off the sub all together, or at max making the system sound overblown. Volume is controlled by a handy fingertip control wheel which can be placed in a handy location rather than having to adjust the volume on the unit itself. Sound which I feel a little disappointed by these S220's especially as I'd read good things from other reviews. I own a set of Logitech X-230 which are far far superior. The S220's sound is a little weak, it has little in the way of bass (turn up the sub too much and the sound gets bloated and sounds worse) and also lacks clarity in the mid and high frequencies. On the plus side its very compact, the sub is long and thin making it easy to find a home for and it will improve the sound of your laptop / small DAB radio etc. Just don't expect room filling quality sound or bass! If you can find some and can stretch the budget a little further the X-230's are much better, though the sub is larger and a differnet shape, it has superb clarity given its size, though the sub again can sound a little too much if your not careful.
