“I's just still great.”

★★★★☆

written by Cash335 on 21/08/2017

Still love it, has pro's and con's of course in comparison to lcd's. But verry satisfied still. Like most machines unfortunately it gave out at one point, 12 years after it's production date, bright side is, it can probably be fixed by changing a capacitor or something, can't remember. Quit trying to fix it, after discovering it would still start up with a heatblower on it for a couple of minutes first. So, still satisfied user. May come around to really fixing it one day. It does for some reason have a big hole in the plastic on top of it. - Four and a half stars. - Love people craze sensitive, think reason for getting it so cheap.

I had very bad monitor 17" CRT and I decided to buy a new one. I wanted 22" or 24" LCD but let's face it CRT is better than LCD so I looked at the DELL P1130 which was second hand monitor used for 5 years and imported from USA. At first I tough that it will be too big and would cause much more eye strain than the low quality 17" CRT but I bought it anyway for $70. When I got home the first thing I did, measured the weight and it was 30.5Kg :-D later when the monitor has warmed up and I tuned it (contrast, brightness, picture size and position, etc.) I was very surprised how clear and sharp the picture was. Now I own the monitor for a year and it's the best monitor I've ever had. If I need to buy another monitor I would buy this one again (or some better 22" CRT). Very cheap and very good, high quality, exceedes expectations, and it has a nice design :-)

I have this monitor for more than TEN years and recently I connected it to my 5 year old xbox360 and learned that it is capable for FULLHD 1080 P which is 1920x1080 NON interlaced.

There is No need for a HDMI cable.

Allthought the monitor is capable of 100Hz the xbox maxes out at 60Hz.

Found my piece of hardware from scrapyard (true!), thrown away with bunch of other monitors. Even so, this Dell Monitor doesn't have a scratch on it!

For starters.. I got to choose between this and a 19" TFT slimmed digital flatscreen and without doubt I went for the 21" bigsized Dell P-1130.

As I work alot with digitalART I wanted a screen that fitted my needs, and this monitor kick's hide. As I was used to sit infront between 17 and a ocassional 19 whenever possible I knew the diffrence it would make to have a big screen to work with. A descision I haven't regretted yet, just to be able to see more details and thanks to the very high resolution on this screen the detail level can be downright scary acctually.

For all you insecure I know that this is a Sony monitor in a Dell shell, and that's nothing to be scared of, more to be a like comfortable pad on the back, because of sonys high quality renomee in the buisness of producing high quality products and great technology behind it makes the choice even more comfortable, and one other thing, if the sony logo was still on, then the pricing would be a bit higher.

That's how you make money on small stuff.

Well good luck on your monitor hunting.

Best of regards

Robert Olsson

The Dell P1130 is the best monitor I`ve ever seen ... I've bought two pieces 7-8 months ago and I'm very pleased, and there is a mistake on the description, max resolution is 2048x1536.

P.S.
Is a Sony G550 inside.

The Dell P1130 monitor is basically perfect. The screen is huge and great for those big applications. The picture on this monitor is one of the clearest that I've ever seen, and it's also very bright too. I've used four of these same types of monitors at work besides the one I have at home and none have had any problems as of yet. I would really recommend this to anyone.

I believe this Dell P1130 21" monitor is really a Sony in a Dell case. Cannot say how pleased I am with the quality of the picture displayed. I'm a satisfied customer.
