“So I am waiting to see what they say - this my mail to...”

Hi Well, this was the first xmas tree I have bought in years having being staunchly miserable for at least the past 20 years at xmas! So ok I want one that might just have a chance of survival so given that I am told that pot ones die I go for root ball and plant it in a huge tub - maybe I will get a year or two! I have a couple of self seeded firs in pots at bottom of garden that have defied every thing and are now 5 ft tall so who knows! Much excitement at home since everyone is realising that I have been prompted out of my xmas misery by the very simple act of ordering an xmas tree - though I am not having it in the house because the two year old labrador would eat it! So its a patio destined tree.... So real christmas tree company here is my feedback! Which is not all bad but bear in mind in the olden days when I did go and buy a tree it took hours to find the perfect one! Now I am a suspicious but avid on line shopper... 1. Ease of order - brilliant - not sure what a fraser fir looks like as no photos but in good traditional fashion I think well its more expensive than the standard ones so should be pretty LOL 2. Communication post deliver - brilliant 3. Delivery - not your problem but something to note - I decide to track it... leaves Rotherham (about 15 miles due north) at 0930 destined for delivery between 0900 and 1800 .. (that's interesting since it left 30 mins after potential delivery time) - Hmmm 1800 comes and goes so ring call centre, first lady very helpful but cuts me off whilst talking to depot.. Ring again..... 15 mins wait... second lady says will be delivered on Monday I say "not good enough the whole point about this tree would be that it is supposed to have a chance to live and if it doesn't get planted this weekend it will die waiting for the following weekend (dont we all)" After she has another conversation with depot they say will deliver on Saturday. They did and nice delivery man phoned me to check I really wanted it leaving on door step. 4. THE TREE Well see the attached pic! The poor thing! It has hardly been selected for a nice shape, It only has one reasonably good angle and this is it! The rest of it is bare and well really rather shoddy - its all a bit like shopping on line for vegetables at the supermarket of your choice - always get the USELESS pack that no one else wanted! This little tree will be given the best of chances over the next year but crumbs its an embarrassment on my patio right now!!!! I cannot find any reviews of you on line so suspect you are quite new??? But regardless of your age as a company ... it really is not good! If you are selling on line - people want a tree that is nicely shaped (sorry but its true) we are by buying on line trusting you to do the choosing for us! Poor show. Oh and then - what about some caring instructions .. there is nothing on your site about what to do with your root ball tree - do I take the wire off, the sacking? So mid transporting the tree to pot I had to run in and go on the web to find out how to care for it.. guess you dont care! Just shovel them out for xmas? Sorry to sound so peed off but my first experience of buying an xmas tree on line! Funnily enough I was warned by a friend about a certain garden centre near me who let you spend hours choosing your tree and then whilst you are paying and they are netting it they swap it for a duff one! LOL I was trying to avoid that! Anyhow I dont expect and answer - thought would like one - but I will endeavour to create a review centre reference next weekend! Thanks Cara Boden

Well, here is my update and gosh how fast did it come back - I am impressed. I got a very pleasant email today apologising and letting me know that they were doing a full refund of all my money within five days (ok not seen yet but its only 1 day).

This kind of reaction is brilliant it means that actually they probably do care about their products, customer service etc. I am not so fussed about the money back I just hope they do take on board my comment about the delegation of choice to the supplier!

I wish I knew if they also supply trees outside of xmas since looking at my slightly sad tree on the very large patio I now realise that I could create quite a special patio with some more though would not want to pay xmas prices!

So my advice to those of you looking to buy an xmas tree on line - give them a go and keep the review centre updated because now I have broken my cycle of "not doing xmas" I will undoubtedly want another one next year!

Good response the real xmas tree co.
