“In It's A Wonderful Life, George Bailey is an all...”

In It's A Wonderful Life, George Bailey is an all round good guy. He has spent his entire life helping others and doing the right thing to the detriment of himself. George has sacrificed his life his education and his burning desire to travel the world to help his family business the Bailey savings and loan company at Bedford Falls in small town America. He watches enviously as friends and relatives move away and live the lives they want to live whilst he is stuck at home helping to run the family business. The years roll on and George marries Mary (Donna Reed) and they begin to raise a family. A problem occurs with the business when his scatterbrained Uncle (Thomas Mitchell) mislays a large amount of money, George is at his wits end and contemplates suicide on a bridge over the river on a freezing snowy night and this is where the film begins. High above in the heavens, angels are responding to Georges plight and send Clarence a novice angel (Henry Travers) back to earth to help George on the promise that if he does good he will finally get his angels wings. Clarence arrives just in time to save a miserable and wretched George from a watery grave. George comments that he wishes he had never been born to which Clarence responds by making it happen, he shows George how things would have been if he had never been born.
This film is most definitely a 'classic ' , it ' s a Frank Capra multi award winning masterpiece filmed in 1946, a beautiful Christmas story that has stood the test of time, James Stewart is cast perfectly in the role of George Bailey and one genuinely feels sorry for him in his plight. If you only watch one Christmas film this year then make it 'It ' s a wonderful life 'guaranteed to make the strongest of us weep at the end I promise!

“It's A Wonderful Life - George Bailey has so many...”

It's A Wonderful Life - George Bailey has so many problems, he is thinking about ending it all, and it's Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years, and tries to convince him that he has made something with his life and that he had a "Wonderful Life".

A delightful film and an absolute classic. I would defiantly recommend!
