Went for food but all ended up with food poisoning instead!

We had a family gathering so 18 of us went to the carvery at Peacehaven, sussex. Service was very slow and bar staff were non-existent. The poor lad waiting tables was run off his feet due to lack of staff. We finally got some food which seemed ok despite the stuffing being like granite. Then at 7pm they put signs up saying the kitchen was closed... they had run out of meat! how is that possible at a carvery on a Saturday night. Ok their other carvery down the road had shut because of no hot water so had a lot of extra booking but even so running out of meat...seriously!

So any customers who had tables booked after ours would get nothing. After a long wait for deserts when they arrived most were barely edible, some were sickly sweet and some were just just soggy and mediocre, most got half eaten and left. It was a family get together so let that pass as it wasn't worth the hassle and after such a long wait we didn't want to be there till next xmas waiting for replacements. When paying the bill they then billed us for coffees from another table which had to be sorted.

Then the next day we all started with food poisoning, one after the other it affected all of us that had the carvery, about 15 out of 18 were affected at last count. Just what you need when some of us had to then drive 300 miles home.

Will we go again... not in this lifetime!
