On July 28th I purchased a Campervan from Exeter Caravan Centre, in Exeter, Devon. On August 3rd I took it out for its first journey. Well it broke down and I had to have a tow to my destination the imobiliser broke. I was told that I would not be entitled to a tow back to Exeter if it broke down again, if it could be repaired. A repair man came to see the van, that part could not be replaced so the option was to remove it, well it was removed and then more faults came to light, starter motor, fuel pump, electric faults, fan belt faults, fuel gage fault. 3 and a half hours later the repair man was able to leave informing me that the van was not fit for purpose and to stop every other service station to let the van have a rest a long journey from Northumberland to Exeter. Well on stopping at the second service station the drivers seatbelt broke meaning I was not legally allowed to drive the van. A temporary repair and I managed to get back to Exeter where the van has sat since 9th August not being able to move. I informed Exeter Caravans that I was going to reject the vehicle as it was not "Fit for Purpose" which I am allowed to do within 4 weeks well this was 2. I wanted them to refund my money as I was unable to drive it anywhere. They have declined they will repair the shower tray and blinds, well that is not going to get the vehicle moving. After taking Legal advice I am now taking them to the County Court to settle this matter. I would never recommend anyone to purchase any vehicle from this company. Exeter Caravan Centre a company who will take your money and not offer you good customer service.
